Electrical data connector
An electrical data connector includes a socket having a socket body that defines a plug connector cavity and electrically conductive shields within the cavity. A plug connector has a plug body telescopically slid into the plug connector cavity. The plug body has an insert cavity and adjacent spring openings, each of the spring openings aligning with a respective one of the shields. A cable head has an insert module telescopically slid into the insert cavity. The cable head includes an electrically conductive fixation element that is fixed to the insert module and fixed to a cable. The fixation element includes integral spring elements that extend generally radially outwardly from the insert module and are each configured to extend through respective spring openings into contact with respective shields.
Electrical terminal module and connector with improved shielding features
A terminal module is provided with a shielded cable including at least one coated wire, a conductive shield portion and a sheath portion for covering an outer periphery of the shield portion; an inner conductor to be connected to the coated wire, a terminal accommodating member made of resin for accommodating the inner conductor; a first outer conductor made of metal and including a tubular portion for accommodating the terminal accommodating member; and a second outer conductor made of metal and including a covering portion for covering a back end part of the tubular portion of the first outer conductor. A narrowing portion is provided in the back end part of the first outer conductor. The terminal accommodating member includes an escaping portion for avoiding interference with the narrowing portion in the process of accommodating the terminal accommodating member into the tubular portion.
Cable shield for an electrical connector
A cable card assembly includes a circuit card having a substrate including mating pads at a mating end and cable pads at a cable end. The circuit card has a ground plane. Cables are terminated to the circuit card at the cable end each having signal conductors, an insulator surrounding the signal conductors, and a ground conductor surrounding the insulator. Cable shields are terminated to the ground plane providing electrical shielding for the corresponding cables. Each cable shield includes an end wall between first and second side walls to form a cable cavity. The end wall has a connecting portion between the first and second side walls and a shroud portion extending from the connecting portion covering a portion of the ground conductor. The shroud portion is curved to follow a curvature of the ground conductor and extend along opposite sides of the ground conductor.
ELECTRICAL CONNECTOR HAVING MOLDED TERMINAL UNIT AND MOLDED CONDUCTIVE PLASTIC MEMBER
An electrical connector includes: a unitary insulative housing having a tongue and a cavity; two rows of terminals molded in the insulative housing while exposing to two opposite surfaces of the tongue, respectively, each row of terminals including plural signal terminals and plural ground terminals, the ground terminals being exposed to the cavity; and a conductive plastic member molded in the cavity to be in contact with the ground terminals.
COMMUNICATION CABLE WITH CONNECTOR AND CONNECTOR ASSEMBLY
A communication cable with connector includes a first terminal, a connector member, a communication cable, a tubular conductive rubber member arranged on the outer periphery of a shielding layer exposed from a sheath in an end part of the communication cable, and a tubular water stop plug provided near the conductive rubber member. The water stop plug includes a cable hole through which the communication cable is inserted, and the cable hole includes a small-diameter portion to be held in close contact with the shielding layer and a large-diameter portion to be held in close contact with the sheath. An end surface of the sheath is caught by a step between the small-diameter portion and the large-diameter portion.
