Flexible cable with structurally enhanced conductors
In an electrical cable of the type having an outer sheath enclosing a conductor assembly comprising a plurality of insulated conductors disposed within a binder, the binder having a crush resistance for protecting the insulated conductors, an improvement in which a strength enhancer is applied such that the binder can be removed without decreasing a crush resistance of the electrical cable.
Handheld circular sawing device
A handheld circular sawing device for severing armored cable includes a housing. A first plate is coupled to and extends coplanarly with a first side of the housing. A second plate is positioned substantially perpendicular to the first plate along a lower edge of the first plate. The second plate is hingedly coupled by a first end to the first plate proximate to a rear of the housing. A second end of the second plate is positioned proximate to a front of the housing to define a channel. A power module and a motor are coupled to the housing. The motor is operationally coupled to the power module. A blade that is coupled to a shaft of the motor protrudes into the channel. The motor is positioned to rotate the blade coincident with the shaft to longitudinally cut a section of a tubular substrate that is positioned in the channel.
METHODS AND APPARATUS FOR PREPARING POWER TRANSMISSION CABLES
A method for preparing a polymer insulated cable including a semiconductive layer surrounding a polymeric insulation layer includes: cutting the semiconductive layer by grinding a circumferential dividing groove in the semiconductive layer using a rotating grinding surface, wherein the dividing groove defines first and second semiconductive sections of the semiconductive layer on opposed sides of the dividing groove; and thereafter removing the second semiconductive section from the polymeric insulation layer while retaining the first semiconductive section on the polymeric insulation layer.

Devices and Methods For Preparing Electrical Wiring
A device for removing the sheathing from an electrical cable includes a body having a first end, a second end opposite the first end, a longitudinal portion therebetween, and a passage extending through the longitudinal portion from the first end to the second end. The second end defines a first terminal portion of a channel extending along at least a portion of the longitudinal portion of the body. A first cutting edge is disposed within the passage and configured to cut a sheathing of an electrical cable extending through the passage upon the device being moved in a first direction. A second cutting edge is disposed at an angle to the first cutting edge at a second terminal portion of the channel opposite the first terminal portion, and configured to cut the sheathing from the electrical cable upon the device being moved in a second direction opposite the first direction.
Armored cable stripping tool for cutting the armor in two places
A stripping tool for cutting the armor sheathing of a cable. The stripping tool includes a cable receiving handle and a saw handle movably mounted to the cable receiving handle. A saw assembly, including at least one saw blade, is supported by the saw handle and moveable relative to the cable receiving handle. The saw assembly configured to simultaneously cut the armor sheathing of the cable in two places.
STRIPPING TOOL
A stripping tool for an armor-wrapped cable is provided, which includes a first handle and a second handle. The first handle includes a cutting portion, a pivoting portion and a gripping portion. The second handle includes a clamping portion, a pivoting portion and a gripping portion. The first handle and the second handle are pivotally connected at the pivoting portion of the first handle and the pivoting portion of the second handle, so that the user can pivot the second handle relative to the first handle by holding the gripping portion of the first handle and the gripping portion of the second handle, so as to clamp the armor-wrapped cable between the cutting portion of the first handle and the clamping portion of the second handle, and cut the cable by the cutting portion of the first handle.
