METHOD OF REMOVING FOIL SHIELD FROM CABLE
A method of removing a foil shield from a cable. The method includes: positioning the cable proximate a heating source; heating the foil shield in a designated area to weaken the foil shield; and removing an outer insulation of the cable and the foil shield after the foil shield has been heated.

An arrangement for assembling cables having cable processing devices arranged in parallel adjacent to one another wherein each cable processing device includes processing stations for processing cable ends of a cable, a cable conveying device running along a longitudinal machine axis for transporting the cable to at least one of the processing stations in the direction of the longitudinal machine axis, and a central control unit for operating the cable processing device which is arranged to a side of the cable processing device with respect to the longitudinal machine axis. The cable processing devices are arranged in at least one group with two adjacent cable processing devices, wherein due to a mirror-image configuration the central control units and the cable transport control units of the two adjacent cable processing devices forming the group are arranged facing and opposite one another to increase efficiency and ergonomics for an operator.
Stripping apparatus and stripping station
A stripping apparatus and a stripping station capable of reducing cycle time for steps of stripping an insulation coating from a conducting wire material are provided. A stripping apparatus configured to strip an insulation coating WL from a conducting wire material W, including the insulation coating WL and cross-section of which orthogonal to a longitudinal direction has a rectangular shape, the stripping apparatus includes: an upper mold 150 provided with a stripping blade configured to strip the insulation coating WL; a lower mold 110 configured to support the conducting wire material W from a lower side thereof; a pressing member 130 configured to prevent displacement of the conducting wire material W; and a rotation mechanism configured to rotate the conducting wire material W around a rotational axis C1 that is parallel to a axial center of the conducting wire material W.
Method for stripping a cable
A method for stripping and testing of a cable having at least one conductor enclosed in an insulating sheath uses a stripping device with at least one stripping blade. The method steps include: extending the stripping blade in a transverse direction to sever the insulating sheath; displacing the stripping blade in a longitudinal direction to pull off the severed insulating sheath; detecting a contacting of the conductor; retracting of the stripping blade in the transverse direction when the contacting is detected; recording the movement data of the stripping blade at the time of contacting; determining a further movement course of the stripping blade from the movement data and forming a corresponding local quality value is formed; and comparing the local quality value with a quality specification to establish whether a quality of the conductor meets requirements.
PEELING DEVICE AND METHOD
A peeling device (12) includes a first peeling unit (21) and a second peeling unit (22). When an upper peeling die (33) and a lower peeling die (34) of the first peeling unit (21) are moved forward, an insulating coating (8) is peeled off from upper and lower surface of a coil conductor wire (2), and a conductive portion (7) is cut from the upper surface and the lower surface of the coil conductor wire (2). The conductive portion (7) is formed to have exposed portions (7a) and recessed portions (7b) cut in a trapezoidal shape. A front peeling die (42) and a rear peeling die (43) of the second peeling unit (22) are moved downward while the recessed portion (7b) is placed on and pressed against a second receiving section (41b) of a cradle (41), which peels off the insulating coating (8) and cuts the conductive portion (7).
Coating removing device
A coating removing device includes a main body that includes a blade used for coating removal; a gripping section that grips an optical fiber; and a slider that connects the main body and the gripping section together so as to be able to approach or separate from each other. The coating removing device removes a coating from the optical fiber by separating the main body and the gripping section after an incision has been made in the coating of the optical fiber using the blade. The slider includes a retention unit to retain the main body and the gripping section in a maximum separation state.
Apparatus for removing a coating
An apparatus for and method of removing a protecting synthetic coating (1) from an elongated element (2) in the form of an optical fiber (3) surrounded by the coating wherein a cut (8) is created into the coating by knife edges (6). The element is displaced with respect to the knife edges in the longitudinal direction of the element for displacing coating material (17) by the knives. At least one drop of liquid (12) with wetting properties is supplied to the cut for being sucked into a space created between the coating and the optical fiber during the displacement for acting as a lubricant for sliding the coating along the fiber to remove the coating from the fiber.
Detecting conductors in a cable-stripping process
While stripping an electrical cable in a stripping device of a cable-processing system, detection by an electrically conductive cutting device with a sensor circuit takes place if contact with a conductor occurs. By connecting the sensor circuit to the cutting device a measuring capacitance is developed. Before incising the electrical cable, a capacitance value of the measurement capacitance is determined during a first measurement cycle in which a charge equalization is carried out between the measurement capacitance and a reference capacitance. A parameter is determined in a further measurement cycle in which a charge equalization is again carried out between the measurement capacitance and the reference capacitance, wherein, relative to the first capacitance, the parameter displays a change in the capacitance after incising into the electrical cable. A signal is produced, if the change is greater than an established threshold value, indicating contact with the conductor.
