A splice sealing device including a first electric cable having an electrical conductor and an insulative cover, a second electric cable having a further electrical conductor and insulative cover, a junction joining the electrical conductors of the first and second electrical cables, a housing which has at least two housing parts mated to each other and which delimits an inner space for accommodating the junction, and a first cable exit in the housing. The first cable extends through the first cable exit, which includes a first chamber accommodating a first cable seal positioned on the first insulative cover of the first cable and sealing the first cable against the housing. The first cable exit is an integral part of a first housing part, and the first cable exit includes an annular wall axially delimiting the first chamber to the outside in extension direction of the first cable.

The cable gland comprises a gland body, a plurality of extensions, an elastomer seal, a compression member configured to rotate the plurality of extensions towards to the elastomer seal, and an earthing insert mounted in the gland body configured to electrically connect a cable to a neutral and/or grounded conductor. The cable gland is configured to provide an air-tight seal between the exterior of the cable and the elastomer seal through rotation of the plurality of extension upon the elastomer seal. The cable gland may include an o-ring and nut to secure the cable gland to a planar body. The earthing insert comprises a grounding spring in electrical communication with a metallic portion of the cable and a neutral and/or grounded conductor.

A cable gland assembly includes a gland nut defining a longitudinal axis. The gland nut includes an interior wall defining a gland nut opening and the interior wall includes a stop. A bushing is disposed within the gland nut opening proximate the stop. The bushing defines a bushing opening configured to receive a cable therein. A sleeve is moveably disposed within the gland nut opening adjacent the bushing. The cable gland assembly also includes a body defining a body opening configured to receive at least a portion of the cable therein. The body is configured to couple to the gland nut, and upon tightening of the gland nut to the body, the gland nut moves along the longitudinal axis compressing the bushing between the gland nut and the sleeve and around the cable. When the sleeve engages with the stop, further compression of the bushing is restricted.

Movement of the clamping members relative to the actuator member in an axial direction of a cable extending through the apparatus causes sliding movement of the clamping members relative to the actuator member between a first condition, in which the cable can move in the axial direction relative to the clamping members, and a one second condition, in which the cable is clamped between the clamping members. A plurality of the clamping members overlap in the axial direction.

The cable gland includes compressible fingers with the ability to compress or expand about a cable inserted in and through the cable gland, and an adjustable earthing coil arranged internally inside a part of the cable gland that secures around a cable inserted in the cable gland. When fully coiled, the adjustable earthing coil is relaxed and as the adjustable earthing coil is expanded it generates a restoring force. An earthing strap attached to the adjustable earthing coil in the cable gland, provides grounding capabilities to the cable gland.
