The solar shield including a base defining a lower region; at least a first arm extending upwardly from the base, the first arm having a portion that overlies an external surface of the tank when the fitting is fitted to the tank; at least a second arm extending upwardly from the base; and, a solar shield adapted to allow fluid to pass located, wherein the solar shield is adapted to snap fit into the inlet opening when the fitting is fitted to the tank without the use of additional fasteners, joiners and/or adhesives.

An improved weatherhead and insulator, and methods for using and installing same, for improved insertion and installation of wiring/cabling to new or existing structures. The weatherhead includes a replaceable disc insulator that may be initially installed or replaced as part of a new weatherhead, or replaced in an installed weatherhead if damaged without passing the end of the service through the insulator. The open spaces through which the service passes are accessible from the top of the insulator. Where the cap is metallic, additional insulation may be inserted at the top of the insulator. The insulator is configured to prevent relative movement between the insulator and collar during installation.

Pullboxes for enclosing utility components and methods of manufacturing the same are provided. In some embodiments, a pullbox has at least one knockout section that is an area of the sidewall of the pullbox that has a reduced thickness. Apertures to receive conduits through the knockout section can be created with far less effort that traditional pullboxes. The conduits allow various utility components to pass through the wall of the pullbox. In addition, the discrete knockout section preserves the structural integrity of the pullbox, and the knockout section can have features that promote certain actions during a molding process for manufacturing the pullbox. Additional features such as a reinforcement mesh embedded in the pullbox in a certain manner and location are also described herein.

QUICK CONNECT

An electrical connection assembly includes an electrical box including a housing having an internal surface defining an internal volume of the housing. An electrical connector is positioned outside the internal volume of the housing and fixed to the housing with a fastener. The housing includes an aperture having an opening defining an insertion path extending from a location external to the housing along a frame of the electrical connector to a location within the internal volume of the housing. The assembly includes a disc mechanically secured to the housing relative to the opening to obstruct the insertion path. A retainer and a bushing including a membrane for the electrical connector as well as methods of making an electrical connector are also provided.

Variable size seal and method

A seal may include a first seal section defining a first internal cylindrical surface defining a first internal diameter configured to provide a substantially fluid-resistant seal between the first internal cylindrical surface and an external surface of a cable. The seal may also include a second seal section coupled to the first seal section and defining a second internal cylindrical surface defining a second internal diameter configured to provide a substantially fluid-resistant seal between the second internal cylindrical surface and an external surface of a cable, wherein the first internal diameter and the second internal diameter may differ from one another. An entry module assembly for facilitating entry of one or more cables into an enclosure may include an entry module plate defining an aperture configured to receive a cable therethrough, and a seal coupled to the entry module plate and extending through the aperture of the entry module plate.

MANAGEMENT DEVICE FOR HYBRID CABLE

An enclosure includes a management insert disposed within a housing to divide the interior into three levels. Hybrid cables enter the housing at the first level. Electrical conductors of the hybrid cables are terminated at the second level. Optical fibers of the hybrid cables are terminated at the third level. Excess length of the optical fibers may be stored at the third level. The management insert may be fastened to the housing using plugs received at select ones of the cable entrance/exit locations. A dedicated furcation enclosure is also disclosed.

Floor box and method of installing

A floor box for housing electrical components includes a bottom and a plurality of walls extending from the bottom to at least partially define an interior and to at least partially define a central opening accessible to a user. A top plate having an inner portion at least partially defining a first wiring compartment facing the central opening and a second wiring compartment facing the central opening is connected to at least one of the plurality of walls.

Mounting mechanism for an electrical device

An apparatus, such as an electrical device or a wall box, may have a mounting mechanism that may be configured to mount the apparatus to a wall in a manner that may facilitate secure fastening to the wall. The apparatus may comprise at least one mounting clamp that may have a fin and a drum that receives a mounting screw. The fin of the mounting clamp may be configured to be located within a pocket formed in the body. When a mounting screw is driven, the mounting clamp may rotate from the pocket into a position in which the drum of the mounting clamp may be received in a channel formed in the body. The drum may be configured to move through the channel as the mounting screw is further driven. The gap may be sized to retain the mounting clamp within the channel as the drum moves therethrough.
