A fan detection chip, a fan detection method and a fan detection system are disclosed. In the fan detection system, a fan includes a power terminal and a speed signal terminal, and optionally includes a PWM signal terminal; a power supply module provides a driving voltage to the fan, a PWM signal generating module provides a first PWM signal and a second PWM signal which respectively have different duty cycles, a current sensing module respectively senses a first current and a second current flowing from the power supply module, and a control module compares the first current and the second current. The control module determines the fan to be a PWM fan when the first current is different from the second current, and the control module determines the fan to be a DC fan when the first current is the same as the second current.

A drive protection method used in a drive circuit of a DC motor having a maximum tolerance value is disclosed to include the steps of providing a drive current for driving the DC motor and a control signal a for controlling the output level of the drive current, providing a maximum signal level corresponding to the maximum tolerance value of said DC motor, comparing the level of the feedback signal of the DC motor and the maximum signal level, and computing the feedback signal to obtain an operation signal when the level of the feedback signal exceeds the maximum signal level and then stopping the output of the control signal when the level of the operation signal reaches a turn-off level.

Method of operating a brushed commutator motor of an adjusting drive, and adjusting drive

A method operates a brushed commutator motor of an adjusting drive in a motor vehicle, particularly a window lifter, having a rotor and having a stator. An angular position of the rotor with respect to the stator is determined. The angular position is used to determine a ripple within the torque, which ripple can be expected on the basis of the commutation. The motor current is adapted such that the amplitude of the ripple that can be expected remains below a determined limit value.

In a motor control device, a communication interface receives a control command defining a target rotation amount and a target rotation speed of a motor. A sensor interface receives a detection signal from a rotation angle sensor outputting a detection signal in every rotation of the motor at a predetermined angle. A controller decides a set value of a rotation speed of the motor. A drive signal generator generates and outputs a drive signal for rotating the motor. The controller calculates a difference between the target rotation amount and a total rotation amount of the motor from start of execution of the control command, based on the number of received detection signals, and determines whether an abnormality occurs in operation of the motor based on an update frequency of a minimum value of the difference or a non-update period when the minimum value of the difference is not updated.
