A portable wireless communications adapter includes a wireless receiver, a wireless transmitter, an electronic interface connector, and a location sensing module. The wireless receiver is configured to receive wireless data over a Wireless Avionics Intra-Communication (WAIC) frequency range between 4.2 gigahertz (GHz) and 4.4 GHz. The wireless transmitter is configured to send wireless data over the WAIC frequency range between 4.2 GHz and 4.4 GHz. The electronic interface connector is configured to mate with a portable electronic device for communication of the wireless data with the portable electronic device. The location sensing module is configured to determine a location of the portable wireless communications adapter relative to an interior of an aircraft based on WAIC communications received at the wireless receiver and selectively enable and disable the wireless transmitter based on the determined location.
RF signal separation and suppression system and method
A method of separating a desired signal from an undesired signal includes obtaining a total input signal comprising the desired signal and the undesired signal in a time domain occupying a time duration from time t.sub.1 to time t.sub.2 of a single symbol in the desired signal. A transform is performed of the total input signal wherein an output of the transform is a time domain signal representing the desired signal.
Transmit-receive switch with harmonic distortion rejection and electrostatic discharge protection
Embodiments disclosed herein relate to reducing insertion loss in a transceiver while improving an operating efficiency of the transceiver. To do so, the transceiver may include isolation circuitry with harmonic distortion rejection circuitry, an electrostatic discharge filter, an out-of-band noise filter, and/or a matching network. In particular, the harmonic distortion rejection circuitry may enable a second harmonic signal to pass from a power amplifier of a transmitter of the transceiver to ground. The electrostatic discharge filter may also provide a path to ground for electrostatic discharge, and the out-of-band noise filter may provide a path to ground for noise signals. The isolation circuitry may substantially remove or decrease interference caused by undesirable signals while reducing a power consumption and thus improving an operating efficiency of the transceiver.
Irrigation Solenoid Valve Switch Assembly Operable on a Mesh Network
An irrigation solenoid valve switch assembly is operable on a mesh network. The assembly uses a mesh network to transmit valve command signals that control the timing and amount of water discharged through a solenoid valve in multiple agricultural zones. A solenoid valve regulates the flow of water. A clock, or agricultural controller, generates valve command signals that control the timing and amount of water discharged through the solenoid valve. A hub controller operatively connects to the clock. The hub controller transmits the valve command signals over the mesh network. A switch operatively connects to the solenoid valve. The switch receives the valve command signals to control the solenoid valve, in correspondence to the valve command signals. The switch has a rechargeable battery that feeds direct current to the switch for operation of the solenoid valve. Multiple relay signal repeaters carry the valve command signals across the mesh network.
Isolation among I/O ports
Methods and apparatuses to adjust isolation between I/O ports. An apparatus includes a die, a first input or output (I/O) port, a second I/O port, and a third I/O port. The second I/O port is between the first I/O port and the third I/O port. A variable capacitor is electrically connected to the second I/O port and is configurable to adjust isolation between the first I/O port and the third I/O port. A method includes performing, by a die, a first RF function via a first I/O port; tuning a variable capacitor electrically connected to a second I/O port to adjust isolation between the first I/O port and a third I/O port, the second I/O port being between the first I/O port and the third I/O port; and performing, by the die, a second RF function via a third I/O port.
Device and method for cancelling interference caused by non-linear device
The disclosure relates to a cancellation device for cancelling interference caused by a non-linear device, the cancellation device comprising: an adaptive filter coupled in parallel to the non-linear device, wherein the adaptive filter is configured to filter an input signal of the non-linear device to generate an approximation signal approximating an output signal of the non-linear device; an error signal generator configured to generate an error signal based on a function of the output signal and the approximation signal; and a controller configured to adjust the adaptive filter based on the error signal and a phase and magnitude relation of the output signal and the input signal.
