Assessing device for assessing an instrument's shape with respect to its registration suitability
11589929 · 2023-02-28 · ·

The invention relates to an assessing device (13) for assessing the suitability of a shape of an instrument like a guidewire for a registration of a position and shape determination device (10) like an optical shape sensing device with an imaging device (2). Curvature values being indicative of the curvature at several positions along the instrument are determined, which are used for determining shape feature values. These shape feature values are then used for determining a suitability value being indicative of the suitability of the shape of the instrument for the registration procedure, wherein an output is provided to a user based on the determined suitability value. The user can therefore modify the shape until the output indicates that the shape of the instrument is suitable for the registration, without requiring any image. This can reduce a radiation dose if the image is, for instance, an x-ray image.

Methods and systems are provided for extracting cardiac frequency angiographic phenomena for an unconstrained vascular object from an angiographic study. In one example, a computer may obtain a series of angiographic image frames obtained at a rate faster than cardiac frequency. Each image frame may comprise a plurality of pixels, and each pixel may have a corresponding intensity. The computer may apply an optical flow technique to the angiographic image frames to generate a plurality of paths corresponding to a displacement of respective pixels from image frame to image frame. The computer may further generate a spatiotemporal reconstruction of cardiac frequency angiographic phenomena based on the plurality of paths and the corresponding intensities associated with respective pixels of the paths, and output for display the spatiotemporal reconstruction of cardiac frequency angiographic phenomena in one or more images.

SEQUENTIAL MONOSCOPIC TRACKING

A method of sequential monoscopic tracking is described. The method includes generating a plurality of projections of an internal target region within a body of a patient, the plurality of projections comprising projection data about a position of an internal target region of the patient. The method further includes generating external positional data about external motion of the body of the patient using one or more external sensors. The method further includes generating, by a processing device, a correlation model between the projection data and the external positional data by fitting the plurality of projections of the internal target region to the external positional data. The method further includes estimating the position of the internal target region at a later time using the correlation model.
