An adjustable support for a gantry (3) for a radiation therapy apparatus or for a medical imaging apparatus, wherein the support comprises: abase (5), a mounting member (1), and an attachment element (7); wherein a lower part of the mounting member (1) engages with the base (5); wherein the attachment element (7) engages with an upper part of the mounting member (1); and wherein the position of the upper part of the mounting member (1), relative to the base (5) is adjustable by the attachment element (7).

Multi-directional X-ray imaging system

An imaging system and methods including a gantry defining a bore and an imaging axis extending through the bore, and at least one support member that supports the gantry such that the imaging axis has a generally vertical orientation, where the gantry is displaceable with respect to the at least one support member in a generally vertical direction. The imaging system may be configured to obtain a vertical imaging scan (e.g., a helical x-ray CT scan), of a patient in a weight-bearing position. The gantry may be rotatable between a first position, in which the gantry is supported such that the imaging axis has a generally vertical orientation, and a second position, such that the imaging axis has a generally horizontal orientation. The gantry may be displaceable in a horizontal direction and the system may perform a horizontal scan of a patient or object positioned within the bore.

IMAGING WITH CURVED COMPRESSION ELEMENTS

A curved compression element, such as a breast compression paddle, and imaging systems and methods for use with curved compression elements. A system may include a radiation source, a detector, and a curved compression element. Operations are performed that include receiving image data from the detector; accessing a correction map for the at least one compression paddle; correcting the image data based on the correction map to generate a corrected image data; and generating an image of the breast based on the corrected image data. The breast compression element generally has no sharp edges, but rather has smooth edges and transitions between surfaces. The breast compression paddle also includes a flexible material that spans a portion of a curved bottom surface of the breast compression paddle to define a gap. The flexible material may be a thin-film material such as a shrink wrap.

A medical imaging device including an imaging gantry supported in a medical facility and movable relative to a patient positioning device. The imaging device may further include a drive system coupled to the imaging gantry and operable to effect movement of the imaging gantry. The medical imaging device may further include a control system in communication with the drive system and configured to control movement of the imaging gantry.

Methods And Systems For Guiding User To Perform Medical Imaging

An imaging system for generating an x-ray image of a subject. The imaging system including an imaging gantry having an x-ray emitter for emitting x-rays through the subject and an x-ray detector for detecting the x-rays that have passed through the subject. The imaging gantry is movable relative to the subject. The imaging system further including a control system configured to provide a user of the imaging system with a quick, easy, and efficient workflow of the imaging system to lead the user through a series of well-defined steps for setting up the imaging system.

Apparatus and method for maintaining image quality while minimizing x-ray dosage of a patient
11801024 · 2023-10-31 · ·

A system including initialization, imaging, alignment, processing, and setting modules. The initialization module obtains patient parameters for a patient and procedure and surgeon parameters. The initialization module selects first settings for an x-ray source based on the patient, procedure, and surgeon parameters. The image module obtains a first sample set of images of a region-of-interest of the patient and a master sample set of images. The first sample set was acquired as a result of the x-ray source operating according to the first settings. The alignment module aligns the first sample set to the master sample set. The processing module processes pixel data corresponding to a result of the alignment based on a pixel parameter or one of the patient parameters. The setting module adjusts the first settings to provide updated settings. X-ray dosage associated with the updated settings is less than x-ray dosage associated with the first settings.

Cantilevered x-ray CT system for multi-axis imaging

A multi-axis imaging system comprising an imaging gantry with an imaging axis extending through a bore of the imaging gantry, a support column that supports the imaging gantry on one side of the gantry in a cantilevered manner, and a base that supports the imaging gantry and the support column. The imaging system including a first drive mechanism that translates the gantry in a vertical direction relative to the support column and the base, a second drive mechanism that rotates the gantry with respect to the support column between a first orientation where the imaging axis of the imaging gantry extends in a vertical direction parallel to the support column and a second orientation where the imaging axis of the gantry extends in a horizontal direction parallel with the base, and a third drive mechanism that translates the support column and the gantry in a horizontal direction along the base.

System and method for moving a gantry of a medical imaging device

A system includes a gantry of a medical imaging device; a linear guide; a carriage system configured to detachably accommodate the gantry and supported in a movable manner via the linear guide parallel to a longitudinal direction relative to a base area; and a drive system configured to move the carriage system parallel to the longitudinal direction relative to the base area while the gantry is accommodated in the carriage system. In at least one embodiment, the gantry includes a chassis configured to move the gantry on the base area in a traveling manner relative to the carriage system while the gantry is detached from the carriage system.
