An ultrasonic imaging system includes an ultrasonic probe and a processing unit. The ultrasonic probe is operable at multiple different tilt angles to perform ultrasonic measurement and to obtain a plurality 2D ultrasonic images corresponding respectively to the different tilt angles. The processing unit calculates a 3D ultrasonic images based on the 2D ultrasonic images and the corresponding tilt angles.

METHODS AND DEVICES FOR REGISTRATION OF IMAGE DATA SETS OF A TARGET REGION OF A PATIENT

A method for registering image data sets of a target region of a patient includes selecting a first anatomical structure only or at least partially only visible in the first image data set, and a second anatomical structure only or at least partially only visible in the second image data set, such that there is a known geometrical relationship between extended segments of the anatomical structures; automatically determining a first geometry information describing the geometry of at least a part of the first anatomical structure and a second geometry information describing the geometry of at least a part of the second anatomical structure, neither information being sufficient to enable registration of the image data sets on its own; automatically optimizing transformation parameters describing a rigid transformation of one of the anatomical structures with respect to the other and geometrical correspondences; and determining registration information from the optimized transformation parameters.

Complementary Color Flashing for Multichannel Image Presentation

Methods are provided for the highlighting of features in composite images through the alternating of images having complementary colors. An image having a feature of interest is used to generate one or more pseudo color images. A series of a pseudo color images and one or more additional pseudo color or original color images are then alternately displayed so that the differently colored regions among the series of images are easily recognizable to an operator. The differently colored regions differ in having hues that are complementary to one another. The methods are particularly useful for the display of information using two or more imaging modalities and channels, such as is the case for some medical applications in which a natural-light image of pink or light-red tissue with deeper red or blue vasculature is overlaid with another functional image. In these cases, a feature present in the functional image can be more easily perceived when displayed in a composite overlay with an underlying image from another imaging modality or channel.

UPDATING AN INDICATION OF A LUMEN LOCATION
20170367769 · 2017-12-28 ·

Apparatus and methods are described including an endoluminal device configured to move along a portion of a lumen of a subject's body, an extraluminal imaging device, and at least one computer processor. While the endoluminal device moves along the portion of the lumen, a display displays an extraluminal image of the lumen in which a first indication of a location of the lumen is shown. The extraluminal imaging device acquires a sequence of extraluminal images of the endoluminal device moving along the portion of the lumen. The indication of the location of the lumen that is displayed is updated based upon the acquired sequence of extraluminal images, and the acquired sequence of images is displayed with the updated indication of the location of the lumen overlaid upon the images. Other applications are also described.

PERSONAL BRAIN STRUCTURE DISPLAYING DEVICE HAVING INTRACRANIAL ELECTRODES AND ITS DISPLAYING METHOD
20170367608 · 2017-12-28 ·

An electrode module is positioned inside an intracranial portion of a human head. Then, it captures brain images of the human head so multiples two dimensional (2D) cross-sectional images are obtained. The electrodes can be seen in one or more 2D cross-sectional images. A brain functional map adjusting portion is provided to obtain the 2D cross-sectional images and then to conduct a proportional deformation process for the images in the brain functional map database. By combining the processed images in the brain functional map database and the 2D cross-sectional images, multiple combined cross-sectional images can be obtained for display. So, the effects of intracranial electrodes are better than the traditional way. In addition, the brain structure information of a patient contains the precise positions of the electrodes and the corresponding brain functional areas.

METHODS FOR PATH PLANNING, AND METHODS, DEVICES, AND SYSTEMS FOR DETERMINING OPERATION GUIDANCE INFORMATION

The present disclosure provides methods for path planning, and methods, devices, and systems for determining operation guidance information. The methods include obtaining an X-ray image of a target object, and marking a location of a lesion on the X-ray image of the target object; obtaining an ultrasonic image of the target object, and obtaining a fused image by fusing the ultrasonic image of the target object with the marked X-ray image; and obtaining a planned path by performing a path planning based on a location of the lesion in the fused image. According to the methods provided herein, the problem that a single medical image providing relatively little information and without effective reference for surgery can now be solved. The surgical instrument can be implanted based on the planned path, thereby improving the success rate of surgery and reducing surgical complications.

Cognitive optical control system and methods

A cognitive optical system for dynamically refining imaging during a medical procedure, involving a processor operable by a set of executable instructions storable in relation to a non-transitory memory device. The processor is configured to automatically adjust an image by automatically compensating for at least one external factor affecting an anatomical area being viewed, automatically adjusting at least one imaging parameter, and automatically adjusting at least one internal control of an optical chain, whereby a quality of the image is improvable in real time.

Radiodiagnostic apparatus and method of operating radiodiagnostic apparatus

A breast imaging apparatus includes a radiation source that irradiates a breast of a subject with radiation, a radiation detector that detects the radiation transmitted through the breast to output a radiographic image, and an ultraviolet light source that performs irradiation of ultraviolet light. The ultraviolet light source irradiates an imaging table, a face guard, a pressing plate, and the like with the ultraviolet light in a case where a turn-on command signal input from an operator through an input device is input.

Imaging systems and methods

Methods and systems for X-ray and fluoroscopic image capture and, in particular, to a versatile, multimode imaging system incorporating a handheld X-ray emitter operative to capture non-invasive images of a target; a stage operative to capture static X-ray and dynamic fluoroscopic images of the target; a system for the tracking and positioning of the X-ray emission to improve safety of obtaining X-ray images as well as improve the quality of X-ray images. Where the devices can automatically limit the field of the X-ray emission.

Image guided navigation system

An image guidance system for tracking a surgical instrument within the oral cavity. The image guidance system includes a plurality of cameras adapted to be located within the oral cavity to provide intraoral images of optically visible patterns within oral cavity. A processing system receives and processes the intraoral images to recognize patterns and triangulate the locations and orientations of each camera. The processing system uses a reference dataset which defines a reference coordinate system based on alignment to a portion of the oral anatomy. The processing system determines the location and orientation of the tracked instrument based on the reference dataset. In an embodiment, the system includes an oral fixture that is removably attachable to teeth in a patient and is configured to hold one of the cameras.
