A method in a computing device for quantitative surgical image registration includes: prior to a surgical procedure, obtaining, using a first imaging modality, a preoperative image of patient tissue and a plurality of preoperative measurements of a material property of the patient tissue. The preoperative measurements correspond to respective points in the preoperative image. The method includes storing the preoperative image and the preoperative measurements, and during the surgical procedure, using a second imaging modality, capturing an intraoperative image of the patient tissue and a second plurality of intraoperative measurements of the material property of the patient tissue. The intraoperative measurements correspond to respective points in the intraoperative image image. The method includes comparing the first and second pluralities of measurements to determine a transformation for registering the preoperative image and the intraoperative image; and storing the transformation in association with one of the intraoperative image and the preoperative image.
METHOD, SYSTEM AND APPARATUS FOR ADAPTIVE IMAGE ACQUISITION
A method of adaptive image acquisition includes obtaining a guide image of patient tissue; receiving an intraoperative image of a portion of the patient tissue from an imaging instrument; and storing the intraoperative image. The method includes comparing the intraoperative image with the guide image to identify at least one region of the guide image matching the intraoperative image; and determining whether the at least one region identified meets at least one accuracy criterion. When the at least one region meets the at least one accuracy criterion, the guide image is rendered with an indication of the at least one region on a display. When the at least one region does not meet the at least one accuracy criterion, the method includes receiving and storing a further intraoperative image; combining the further intraoperative image with the intraoperative image; and repeating the comparing and determining.
X-Ray/Intravascular Imaging Colocation Method And System
In the present invention, a method and associated system is provided that produces a new sequence of combined X-ray/fluoro images obtained in synchrony with intravascular dataset/images. This synchronization is based on the time tags recorded at the acquisition of one dataset of the X-ray/fluoroscopic images and the intravascular images/datasets and the cardiac cycle correspondence between the combined X-ray/fluoro datasets/images. The combined X-ray/fluoro and intravascular sensor images provided in the method for each position of intravascular measurement/slice along the blood vessel allows the physician the ability to determine the planned position of the treatment, e.g., a stent, in the X-ray/fluoro images based on the intravascular images, and allows an accurate assessment of the target/lesion location in the X-ray/fluoro images during treatment.
MEDICAL IMAGING DEVICE, TUBE VOLTAGE SETTING DEVICE, IMAGING CONTROL METHOD, AND RECORDING MEDIUM STORING IMAGING CONTROL PROGRAM
A medical imaging device that includes: a press plate that presses a breast; an emitter that radiates radiation onto the breast; an acquisition section that acquires various information indicating a type of an acoustic matching member inserted between the press plate and the breast in cases in which ultrasound imaging of the breast is performed; and a setting section that sets a tube voltage of the emitter to a first tube voltage, in cases in which radiographic imaging of the breast is performed alone, and that sets the tube voltage of the emitter to a second tube voltage that is different from the first tube voltage, by employing the various information acquired by the acquisition section, in cases in which radiographic imaging and ultrasound imaging of the breast are performed consecutively with the acoustic matching member still inserted.
Multimodal imaging system, apparatus, and methods
In part, the invention relates to an image data collection system. The system can include an interferometer having a reference arm that includes a first optical fiber of length of L1 and a sample arm that includes a second optical fiber of length of L2 and a first rotary coupler configured to interface with an optical tomography imaging probe, wherein the rotary coupler is in optical communication with the sample arm. In one embodiment, L2 is greater than about 5 meters. The first optical fiber and the second optical fiber can both be disposed in a common protective sheath. In one embodiment, the system further includes an optical element configured to adjust the optical path length of the reference arm, wherein the optical element is in optical communication with the reference arm and wherein the optical element is transmissive or reflective.
Image processing system, X-ray diagnostic apparatus, and image processing method
An image processing system according to an embodiment includes a first aligning unit, an output unit, a second aligning unit, and a display unit. The first aligning unit aligns first three-dimensional medical image data with second three-dimensional medical image data. The output unit outputs, as output data, data obtained by adding alignment information to the first three-dimensional medical image data and to the second three-dimensional medical image data or synthetic data obtained by aligning and synthesizing the first three-dimensional medical image data with the second three-dimensional medical image data. The second aligning unit receives the output data and aligns the second three-dimensional medical image data with one or a plurality of pieces of X-ray image data. The display unit displays image data obtained by aligning the first three-dimensional medical image data with X-ray image data based on an alignment result.
Device for intraoperative image-controlled navigation during surgical procedures in the region of the spinal column and in the adjacent regions of the thorax, pelvis or head
A device for intraoperative, image-controlled navigation during surgical procedures in the spinal and/or adjacent thorax, pelvis or head regions, includes multiple non-x-ray detection devices to be distributed about at least one object to be operated on, and to intraoperatively capture real time image and position data, respectively including information relating to the outer contour of at least one subregion of the object, and to the subregion position relative to the respective detection device. Also, a position determining device for determining respective detection device position relative to a stationary reference system, and a data processing device operatively connected with the detection devices and the position determining device are designed to create, based on the respective detection device image and position data and the position determining device position data, a virtual real-time image, referenced with respect to the reference system, of the object, and displayed on an image display device.
UPDATING AN INDICATION OF A LUMEN LOCATION
Apparatus and methods are described including an endoluminal device configured to move along a portion of a lumen of a subject's body, an extraluminal imaging device, and at least one computer processor. While the endoluminal device moves along the portion of the lumen, a display displays an extraluminal image of the lumen in which a first indication of a location of the lumen is shown. The extraluminal imaging device acquires a sequence of extraluminal images of the endoluminal device moving along the portion of the lumen. The indication of the location of the lumen that is displayed is updated based upon the acquired sequence of extraluminal images, and the acquired sequence of images is displayed with the updated indication of the location of the lumen overlaid upon the images. Other applications are also described.
