Multi-bed elastic motion correction
A set of first modality data (e.g., MR or CT) is provided. The set of first modality data comprises a plurality of mu-maps, a plurality of motion vectors and a plurality of gated data. Each of the mu-maps corresponds to one of the beds. A set of second modality data (e.g., PET/SPECT) is provided. The set of second modality data comprises a plurality of frames for each of the beds. Each of the plurality of frames is warped by one or more motion vectors of the plurality of motion vectors. A single-bed image is generated for each bed by summing the frames corresponding to the bed. A whole body image is generated by summing the single-bed images for each of the beds.

An image processing apparatus includes a processor programmed to obtain a first radiation image of a subject captured from a first direction, obtain a second radiation image of the subject captured from a second direction that intersects the first direction, and either correct one of the first radiation image and the second radiation image based on positional information of a device for capturing the one of the first radiation image and the second radiation image, or correct another one of the first radiation image and the second radiation image based on information on a position of a specific region of the subject obtained from the one of the first radiation image and the second radiation image.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR CARDIOVASCULAR-DYNAMICS CORRELATED IMAGING
A method for cardiovascular-dynamics correlated imaging includes receiving a time series of images of at least a portion of a patient, receiving a time series of cardiovascular data for the patient, evaluating correlation between the time series of images and the time series of cardiovascular data, and determining a property of the at least a portion of a patient, based upon the correlation. A system for cardiovascular-dynamics correlated imaging includes a processing device having: a processor, a memory communicatively coupled therewith, and a correlation module including machine-readable instructions stored in the memory that, when executed by the processor, perform the function of correlating a time series of images of at least a portion of a patient with a time series of cardiovascular data of the patient to determine a property of the at least a portion of a patient.
METHOD, APPARATUS AND COMPUTER PROGRAM FOR OBTAINING IMAGES
A method, apparatus and computer program wherein the method comprises: obtaining a three dimensional image of an object; obtaining a two dimensional image of at least a part of the object; mapping the two dimensional image onto the three dimensional image to identify the location of the part of the object in the two dimensional image within the three dimensional image; and enabling an indication of the identified location within the three dimensional image to be provided to a user.
MRI-CT SYSTEM AND METHODS FOR SEQUENTIALLY IMAGING
An MRI-CT system and methods for sequentially (or simultaneously) imaging a subject involving a CT component for initially performing CT imaging, an MR component for subsequently performing MR imaging, the MR component and the CT component disposable in relation to one another in at least one of linearly aligned and colinearly aligned, and a movable barrier disposable between the CT component and the MR component, the movable barrier comprising a magnetic shield, and the movable barrier disposable in one of an open position and a closed position during MRI scanning by the MR component and in a closed position during CT scanning by the CT component.
Image processing apparatus, method, and program
Obtaining a surface image captured by an endoscope inserted in a tubular organ associated with a surrounding blood vessel and representing an inner surface of a wall of the organ, generating, from a three-dimensional image representing a three-dimensional area including the organ, an adjacent blood vessel image depicting a portion of the blood vessel adjacent to the wall from a viewpoint in the three-dimensional image corresponding the viewpoint of the surface image, generating, from a three-dimensional image representing a three-dimensional area including a surrounding area of the organ, a surrounding blood vessel image depicting the blood vessel from a viewpoint in the three-dimensional image corresponding the viewpoint of the surface image, and causing the surface image, adjacent blood vessel image, and surrounding blood vessel image to be displayed in this order on a display unit.
SEPTAL PERFORATING VEIN PACING
A system and method of implanting pacing lead in a patient's heart. The system may include a catheter configured to by inserted through the coronary sinus ostium such that the distal end region of the catheter is positioned past the anterolateral vein and proximate at least one septal perforating vein. The catheter is configured to inject contrast proximate the septal perforating vein to identify an implant region for a pacing lead. Further, a controller is configured to deliver pacing therapy to the implant region.
Apparatus and methods for use with skeletal procedures
3D image data of a skeletal portion within a subject's body is acquired. Subsequently, one or more radiopaque elements are positioned with respect to the body and first and second x-rays of the radiopaque elements and the skeletal portion are acquired from respective views. Based upon an identified location of the radiopaque elements within the x-rays, and registration of the x-rays to the 3D image data, the location of the radiopaque elements with respect to the 3D image data is determined. An optical image of the body and the radiopaque elements is acquired and the location of the radiopaque elements within the optical image is identified. The 3D image data is overlaid upon the optical image by aligning (a) the location of the radiopaque elements within the 3D image data with (b) the location of the radiopaque elements within the optical image. Other applications are also described.
Method for the reconstruction of an image data set of computed tomography, computed tomography apparatus, computer program and electronically readable data carrier
A method is for the reconstruction of an image data set from projection images of an examination object recorded at different projection directions with a computed tomography apparatus. In an embodiment, the method includes establishing an item of contour information describing a contour of at least one of the examination object and the additional object; enhancing projection data of the projection images via forward projection in regions in which at least one of the examination object and the additional object was not acquired; and reconstructing the image data set based upon the projection data enhanced. The examination object and the additional object are acquired from sensor data of at least one camera. Finally, an item of sensor information at least partially describing at least one of the is of the examination object and of the additional object being established and used for establishing the contour information.
Automatic quantitative vessel analysis at the location of an automatically-detected tool
Apparatus and methods are described including inserting a tool into a blood vessel, and, while the tool is within the blood vessel, acquiring an extraluminal image of the blood vessel. In the extraluminal image of the blood vessel, a location of a portion of the tool with respect to the blood vessel is detected automatically. In response to detecting the location of the portion of the tool, a target portion of the blood vessel that is in a vicinity of the portion of the tool is designated automatically. Using the extraluminal image, quantitative vessel analysis is performed on the target portion of the blood vessel. Other embodiments are also described.
