In the mapping processing, a plurality of first modulation signals and a plurality of second modulation signals are generated using a first mapping scheme, and a plurality of third modulation signals and a plurality of fourth modulation signals are generated using a second mapping scheme. In the phase change processing, a phase change is performed on the plurality of second modulation signals and the plurality of fourth modulation signals using all N kinds of phases. In the transmission processing, the first modulation signals and the second modulation signals are respectively transmitted at a same frequency and a same time from different antennas, and the third modulation signals and the fourth modulation signals are respectively transmitted at a same frequency and a same time from the different antennas.

The splitter is configured to provide an unequal passive power splitting between the first output and the second output of the splitter.

ANALOG BEAMFORMER USED FOR ARRAY ANTENNA AND OPERATING METHOD THEREOF

An analog beamformer used for array antenna and an operating method thereof are provided. The analog beamformer used for array antenna includes an intermediate-frequency amplifying circuit, multiple local oscillators, multiple mixers, multiple radio-frequency amplifying circuits, and a frequency locking circuit. The analog beamformer uses a master-oscillator and multiple slave-oscillators which embed a resonant network of frequency-and-phase-locking. The intermediate-frequency amplifying circuit receives a baseband signal to provide an intermediate-frequency signal. Power supplies or grounding ports of different local oscillators are connected together to provide multiple local-oscillating signals with consistent frequency but different phases. The mixers individually receive the intermediate-frequency signal and one of the local-oscillating signals to provide multiple mixed signals. The radio-frequency amplifying circuits receive the mixed signals to provide multiple radio-frequency signals with consistent frequency but different phases to each antenna. The frequency locking circuit only locks a frequency of one of the local-oscillating signals.

In a case where, in the PHY frame including the short Sector Sweep frame, a Direction field of the short Sector Sweep frame indicates Initiator Sector Sweep, the PHY frame generating circuit replaces a Short Sector Sweep Feedback field indicating a number of a selected best short Sector Sweep with a Short Scrambled Basic Service Set ID field indicating an abbreviated address generated from an address of a destination communication apparatus.

Disclosed is a transmitter configured for analog beam steering, the transmitter comprising a plurality of antenna branches, each having an antenna (326). The transmitter comprises, at each of the antenna branches, a signal splitter (308) for splitting an analog radio signal into a number of beam signals, the number of beam signals equals a number of desired beams to be transmitted. Further, the transmitter comprises, for each of the number of beam signals, a phase shifter (310, 312) for phase shifting the beam signal according to a phase shift setting for that beam and for that antenna branch, the phase shift settings being taken from a single look-up table, and a signal combiner (314) for combining the phase shifted beam signals into one combined signal. Further, the transmitter is arranged for transmitting the combined signal from the antenna (326) of that antenna branch towards a receiver.

In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive, from a base station, downlink control information (DCI) associated with transmission configuration information, where the transmission configuration information includes a plurality of indicators of respective reference signals. The UE may communicate, with the base station, based at least in part on the transmission configuration information. The DCI may include a field associated with a transmission configuration indicator (TCI) state that includes the plurality of indicators. As an alternative, the DCI may include at least a first field associated with a first TCI state that includes a first indicator of the plurality of indicators and a second field associated with a second TCI state that includes a second indicator of the plurality of indicators.
