Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a base station may transmit a message, to a user equipment (UE), instructing the UE to activate or update a reference signal (RS) corresponding to an uplink communication transmitted by the UE. The base station may communicate with the UE, after a time period, using a beam configuration of the base station that corresponds to a beam configuration of the UE for transmitting the RS, the time period being based at least in part on a determination of whether the UE identified the beam configuration of the base station. Numerous other aspects are provided.

The communication device selects from one or more codebooks a subset of D delay components and/or a subset of F Doppler-frequency components and uses the selected subset of delay components for each polarization and each spatial beam and/or the selected subset of Doppler-frequency components for each polarization, each spatial beam and each delay, when calculating the Doppler-delay precoder matrix.

Provided are a method of deriving cell quality and a device supporting the method. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the method includes: detecting reference signals in a first period; detecting that a specific reference signal among the reference signals is not detected in a second period; and considering that a quality of the specific reference signal which is not detected in the second period as a quality of the specific reference signal measured in the first period.

Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to methods and devices for channel state information (CSI) transmission. In example embodiments, a method implemented in a terminal device includes performing a channel estimate between the terminal device and a network device across a predetermined frequency range for a set of beams having different spatial directions; determining, based on the channel estimate, first indication information indicating at least one beam selected from the set of beams and second indication information indicating frequency-related information for the at least one selected beam at a plurality of frequency locations in the predetermined frequency range; and transmitting to the network device the first indication information in a first part of a channel state information (CSI) report and the second indication information in a second part of the CSI report.
Beam update techniques in beamformed wireless communications
Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described in which a UE may transmit an indication to a base station that the UE supports a beam update procedure that updates one or more beamforming parameters of one or more transmission beams. The UE may establish a connection with the base station via the one or more transmission beams. The UE may receive a medium access control (MAC) control element (CE) communication to initiate the beam update procedure, the received MAC-CE communication indicating one or more aperiodic sounding reference signal (SRS) resources to be used in the beam update procedure. The UE may perform the beam update procedure, based on the MAC-CE communication, to update one or more beamforming parameters of the one or more transmission beams.

Non-line-of-sight (NLOS) coverage for millimeter wave communication
A system, in an active reflector device, adjusts a first amplification gain of each of a plurality of radio frequency (RF) signals received at a receiver front-end from a first equipment via a first radio path of an NLOS radio path. A first phase shift is performed on each of the plurality of RF signals with the adjusted first amplification gain. A combination of the plurality of first phase-shifted RF signals is split at a transmitter front-end. A second phase shift on each of the split first plurality of first phase-shifted RF signals is performed. The plurality of RF signals as a directed beam is transmitted to a second equipment via a second radio path of the NLOS radio path.
Determining a beam for preamble transmission
Apparatuses, methods, and systems are disclosed for determining a beam for preamble transmission. One apparatus includes a processor that determines a beam from multiple beams for preamble transmission. In response to the multiple beams including one or more beams configured with a contention-free resource, the one or more beams configured with a contention-free resource have a higher priority than other beams of the multiple beams.

The channel access method by an access point (AP) having a sector antenna in a wireless local access network (WLAN), may include transmitting a sector beacon with respect to any one sector among a plurality of sectors, transmitting and receiving data with at least one station in any one sector during a pre-scheduled sector interval, sequentially performing transmission of the sector beacon and transmission and reception of the data with respect to remaining sectors of the plurality of sectors excluding the any one sector, transmitting an omni beacon with respect to all of the plurality of sectors, and transmitting and receiving data with respect to at least one station of the plurality of sectors during a pre-scheduled Basic Service Set (BSS) interval.
