FULL-DUPLEX WIRELESS DATA TRANSFER FOR ROTARY JOINTS
RF systems configured to implement full-duplex wireless data transfer for rotary joints are disclosed. An example RF system includes a 60 GHz short distance communication link implemented using elliptically (e.g., circularly) polarized antennas. Such a system may provide a mm-wave, high-speed, wideband wireless communication link in a manner that is associated with simpler design and operation, mechanical integrity, and reduced power consumption, compared to alternative solutions.
FORMING A VIRTUAL USER EQUIPMENT GROUP AND ENHANCING COMMUNICATION USING JOINT RECEPTION AND TRANSMISSION MECHANISMS
Aspects of the present disclosure provide apparatus, methods, processing systems, and computer readable mediums for forming a virtual user equipment (UE) group and enhancing communication using joint reception and transmission mechanisms. For example, a UE may establish sidelink channels for communications with one or more other UEs. The UE and the one or more other UEs may form a virtual UE group (also interchangeably referred to as a virtual UE) using the sidelink channels. The UE may exchange information with other UEs in the virtual UE group to enhance communications between the one or more UEs of the virtual UE group and a network entity. The information exchanged depends on at least one of a joint reception mechanism or a joint transmission mechanism used by the virtual UE group. The UE communicates with the network entity based, at least in part, on the exchanged information.
TIME-BASED CIRCUITS AND SYSTEMS FOR WIDEBAND SPATIAL SIGNAL PROCESSING
An N-element baseband (BB) time-domain spatial signal processor system and methodology for large modulated bandwidth multi-antenna receivers are provided. Such a processor generally includes a pipeline converter configured as an asynchronous time-to-digital converter, wherein the asynchronous time-to-digital converter arrangement generates a residue value and an asynchronous pulse and is further arranged to amplify the residue value so as to result in an amplified residue value; and a 2-bit flash time-to-digital-converter configured to quantize the amplified residue value. Thus, a true-time delay spatial signal processing system and technique in the time-domain that enables beamforming, beam-nulling and multiple independent interference cancellation after time-alignment of signals using cascaded voltage-to-time converters and quantization using relaxed pipeline time-to-digital converters is presented.
REFERENCE SIGNAL PORT MAPPING FOR CONTROL CHANNELS
Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive a configuration message indicating that a control resource set for a downlink control channel is associated with a plurality of demodulation reference signal (DMRS) ports. The UE may determine, based at least in part on the configuration message, that a first set of DMRS resource elements in a first symbol of the control resource set correspond to a first DMRS port of the plurality of DMRS ports and a second set of DMRS resource elements in a second symbol of the control resource set correspond to a second DMRS port of the plurality of DMRS ports. The UE may decode the downlink control channel based at least in part on the determining.
Reconfigurable MIMO radar
Automotive radar systems may employ a reconfigurable connection of antennas to radar transmitters and/or receivers. An illustrative embodiment of an automotive radar system includes: a radar transmitter; a radar receiver; and a digital signal processor coupled to the radar receiver to detect reflections of a signal transmitted by the radar transmitter and to derive signal measurements therefrom. At least one of the radar transmitter and the radar receiver are switchable to provide the digital signal processor with signals from each of multiple combinations of transmit antenna and receive antenna.

System and method for a multi-beam beamforming front-end architecture for wireless transceivers
A front-end antenna system for transmitting and receiving one or more beams and including at least one of a radio frequency (RF) stage, an intermediate frequency (IF) stage, and a digital stage includes one or more beam networks configured to form one or more signal streams over the one or more beams, where each beam network from among the one or more beam networks comprises a beamformer network, a switching network, or a combination thereof. The front-end antenna system includes an array of antennas configured to output each of the beams in a selected spatial region from among a plurality of spatial regions, where one or more antennas from among the array of antennas are multiport antennas. The front-end antenna system includes a plurality of transceivers that electrically couple the array of antennas and the one or more beam networks.
USER APPARATUS, BASE STATION AND COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
A signal is transmitted and received between a base station device and a communication terminal device that are included in a communication system, through a multi-element antenna including a plurality of antenna elements. At least one of the base station device and the communication terminal device includes a PHY processing unit that is a calibration unit that performs calibration of phases and amplitudes of beams formed by the antenna elements when the signal is transmitted and received. The PHY processing unit obtains a correction value for the phases and the amplitudes of the beams in the respective antenna elements so that the phases and the amplitudes of the beams are identical among the antenna elements, and performs the calibration based on the obtained correction value.
Interference aware adaption of antenna radiation patterns
A device configured for operating in a wireless communication network is configured for forming an antenna radiation pattern for communicating with a communication partner. The antenna radiation pattern includes a main lobe and side lobes. The device is configured for controlling the main lobe towards a path to the communication partner; and to control the side lobes to address interference at the location of a further device.
