ANTENNA PANEL MANAGEMENT
Aspects and embodiments relate to an apparatus and method for performing antenna panel management. There is provided an apparatus comprising: means for obtaining signal reception information related to at least one downlink signal received by a user equipment using at least one reception antenna panel of a plurality of selectively-activatable antenna panels; means for determining an indication of effective power radiatable to the network node from which the downlink signal is received, based on the signal reception information related to the at least one downlink signal received by that to antenna panel for each of the plurality of selectively-activatable antenna panels which is configurable to transmit a signal to a network node from which the downlink signal is received; means for calculating an indication of power consumption associated with the indication of effective power radiatable to the network node for each of the plurality of selectively-activatable antenna panels; and means for selecting and configuring at least one of the selectively-activatable antenna panels to be used for transmission of a signal to a network node from which the downlink signal is received in response to the calculated indication of power consumption. Aspects support appropriate power efficient operation of a communication apparatus, for example by allowing for differentiated uplink and downlink antenna panel selection, which can enable apparatus power saving, whilst minimising performance loss, or incurring no significant performance loss.
Modular metasurface antenna with high instantaneous bandwidth
Modular antennas with high instantaneous bandwidth are described. In one embodiment, an antenna comprises a plurality of antenna modules tiled together and configured to form one metasurface antenna with an array of surface scattering metamaterial antenna elements; and a feed network comprising a plurality of feed points coupled to the plurality of antenna modules to supply the modules with a feed wave.
Repeater device with multi-range antenna array and method of operation of repeater device
A repeater device includes a first antenna array having a plurality of antenna configuration modes, where each mode defines a unique configuration of one or more sub-arrays of a plurality of different sub-arrays of the first antenna array. The repeater device further includes control circuitry configured to select one of the plurality of antenna configuration modes and based on the selected one of the plurality of antenna configuration modes, activate a first set of antenna elements of the first antenna array and deactivate a second set of antenna elements of the first antenna array. The first set of antenna elements corresponds to a first configuration of one or more sub-arrays of the first antenna array. A beam of RF signal is directed to a user equipment from the first configuration of the one or more sub-arrays of the first antenna array.
WIRELESS COMMUNICATION SYSTEM, WIRELESS COMMUNICATION APPARATUS, AND WIRELESS COMMUNICATION METHOD
A wireless communication system includes: a first wireless communication apparatus; and a second wireless communication apparatus. First wireless communication apparatus wirelessly communicates with second wireless communication apparatus using one or more first antennas. Second wireless communication apparatus wirelessly communicates with the first wireless communication apparatus using one or more second antennas. A controller included in the wireless communication system performs control to change one or both of first antennas wirelessly communicating with the second wireless communication apparatus among the one or more first antennas of a plurality of first wireless communication apparatuses or second antennas wirelessly communicating with the first wireless communication apparatus among a plurality of second antennas of the second wireless communication apparatus for maximizing communication quality on the basis of the communication quality for each time between first antenna and second antenna calculated using a position of the one or more second antennas and movement schedule information representing a position of first wireless communication apparatus for each time.
DEVICE AND METHOD FOR FRONTHAUL TRANSMISSION IN WIRELESS COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
A method performed by an open radio access network (O-RAN) distributed unit (O-DU) in a wireless communication system, the method includes: generating a control plane message comprising User Equipment (UE) scheduling information; and transmitting the control plane message to an open radio access network (O-RAN) radio unit (O-RU). The control plane message further includes section extension information. The section extension information comprises bit masking information indicating antennas to be combined.
FR2 LEG FAST RAMP UP AND KEEP
In an aspect of the disclosure, a method, a computer-readable medium, and an apparatus are provided. The apparatus may be a UE. The UE receives, on a primary cell (PCell), an indication indicating an addition of a primary secondary cell group (SCG) cell (PSCell). The UE initiates executing a random access procedure on the PSCell. While executing the random access procedure, the UE receives one or more reference signals on the PSCell; the UE measures the one or more reference signals to select an antenna panel and a beam to receive data on the PSCell; the UE receives, at the antenna panel, the data on the beam after the random access procedure is completed.
METHOD FOR ANTENNA SELECTION OF USER EQUIPMENT
The invention provides a method for antenna selectin of a user equipment (UE). The UE may comprise a plurality of antennas. The method may comprise calculating one or more quality evaluations respectively associated with one or more first antenna subsets, and selecting one of the one or more first antenna subsets according to the one or more quality evaluations. Each antenna subset may include one or more of the plurality of antennas. Each quality evaluation may be calculated under a condition that the antenna(s) included in the associated antenna subset is (are) used to communicate.
AUDIO/VIDEO RECEIVING DEVICE AND WIRELESS DISPLAY SYSTEM
An Audio/Video (A/V) receiving device may include a display, a Radio Frequency (RF) receiving module configured to receive an RF packet from an A/V transmitting device, the RF receiving module including a plurality of antennas, and a microcomputer configured to obtain a distance between the A/V transmitting device and A/V receiving device and when the obtained distance is changed, display a first message indicating that a number of antennas to be turned among the plurality of antennas is changed according to the change of the distance.
