Network repeater system
A system is described where antenna beam steering techniques are implemented to optimize time and frequency channel resources in wireless communication systems where repeaters are used. Beam steering modes of the antenna systems in the repeaters as well as the nodes are optimized to improve system capacity and load balancing. Client devices in a wireless LAN system can be configured to work as repeaters, with the repeaters containing a beam steering capability. The beam steering capability can be implemented in one or multiple nodes and repeaters in the communication system.

A wireless communication system includes: a plurality of base stations wirelessly connected to a relay station; and the relay station comprising: a multi-element antenna including a plurality of antenna elements, wherein, among the plurality of antenna elements, a first antenna element is wirelessly connected to a first base station of the plurality of base stations, and a second antenna element is wirelessly connected to a second base station of the plurality of base stations; and a controller that switches at least one of the first antenna element and the second antenna element so as to be wirelessly connected to another base station of the plurality of base stations in response to an occurrence of an event.
RECONFIGURABLE AND MODULAR ACTIVE REPEATER DEVICE
An active repeater device includes a primary sector and one or more secondary sectors, receives a first beam of input RF signals. A first set of analog baseband signals, are generated based on received first beam of input RF signals. The first set of analog baseband signals are converted to a first set of coded data signals and control information is extracted from the first set of coded data signals by decoding only a header portion of the first set of coded data signals without demodulation of data portion of the first set of coded data signals. Based on the extracted control information, the first set of coded data signals are transmitted as beams of output RF signals to remote user equipment. The transmission is independent of demodulation of the data portion within the active repeater device to reduce latency for transmission of the first set of coded data signals.

Multi-channel radio frequency module with frequency division of data reception and transmission
The multi-channel radio frequency module with frequency division of data reception and transmission contains at least two radiating elements; at least two received signal filters and at least two transmitted signal filters, each of which is tuned to pass the received and transmitted signal accordingly in a certain frequency band; at least two radio frequency receivers, each of which is connected to the received signal filter; and at least two radio frequency transmitters, each of which is connected to the transmitted signal filter. Radiating elements having two input ports; one of which is connected to the received signal filter, and the other to the transmitted signal filter, the passbands of these filters being non-overlapping. Application of the invention allows the miniaturization of the microwave PtP communication station while simultaneously providing efficient electronic beam scanning with small signal loss for beam switching and high isolation between receivers and transmitters.
Broadband repeater with security for ultrawideband technologies
An ultrawideband radio transceiver/repeater provides a low cost infrastructure solution that merges wireless and wired network devices while providing connection to the plant, flexible repeater capabilities, network security, traffic monitoring and provisioning, and traffic flow control for wired and wireless connectivity of devices or networks. The ultrawideband radio transceiver/repeater can be implemented in discrete, integrated, distributed or embedded forms.
Repeater
A repeater includes a donor device, a service device, a down-link circuit and an up-link circuit. The donor device includes a first receiving antenna array, a first transmitting antenna array and a first antenna controller. The first receiving antenna array and the first transmitting antenna array are disposed on a first substrate having a first normal direction. The service device includes a second transmitting antenna, a second receiving antenna and a second antenna controller. The second transmitting antenna and the second receiving antenna are disposed on a second substrate having a second normal direction. The first normal direction is different from the second normal direction, and the first receiving antenna array and the first transmitting antenna array are orthogonally polarized with each other.
MIMO COMMUNICATION SYSTEM FOR VEHICLES
A multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) based vehicle-mounted system may include a first plurality of antennas and a second plurality of antennas, with an antenna of the first plurality having different polarization than an antenna of the second plurality, an antenna of the first plurality and an antenna of the second plurality having antenna patterns in a different direction relative to at least another antenna of the first plurality and another antenna of the second plurality, and an antenna pattern of one antenna of the first plurality and an antenna pattern of one antenna of the second plurality being directed at least approximately parallel to the path. A corresponding MIMO-based stationary system may include at least a first plurality of antennas and a second plurality of antennas, with radiation patterns of the first and second pluralities being configured to overlap within an area between the first and second pluralities.
RELAY DEVICE
A relay device is one of relay devices each including (i) a common port connected to a terminal and (ii) two ring ports connected to other relay devices via communication lines. Upon receiving via the common port a frame whose destination is a terminal connected to a different relay device under one of the communication lines being abnormal, the relay device transmits the frame via both (i) one of the ring ports bypassing the abnormal communication line and (ii) a communication bus. In contrast, upon receiving a frame, whose destination is a terminal connected with the relay device, via one of the ring ports and a frame, whose destination is the terminal connected with the relay device, via the communication bus, the relay device determines whether the frames match. If the frames match, the relay device transfers the matched frame to the terminal via the common port.
