Beam changing for a repeater node

This disclosure provides systems, apparatus, methods, and computer-readable media for beam switching by a repeater node that forwards communications from one of a first node or a second node to the other of the first node or the second node. For example, after a change of position by the second node, the first node may provide the repeater node an instruction to perform a beam change operation to communicate with the second node. In some aspects, performing the beam change operation by the repeater node may improve reliability of wireless communications, such as by focusing signal energy in a particular direction. Further, a beam change delay time interval or a scheduling of the beam change delay time interval may be selected based on scheduling associated with other nodes, which may reduce a number of messages sent to the repeater node (such as by reducing instructions to change beam directions).

Multi-beam routing using a lens antenna

Aspects of the disclosure relate to a node using at least one lens antenna for efficient, effective, and simultaneous multiple beam routing. The node may include a switch matrix communicatively coupling the first antenna with the second antenna. The first antenna may receive and/or transmit one or more directional beams. The second antenna may transmit and/or receive other one or more directional beams. The node may further include a controller configured to control the switch matrix for the coupling. Other aspects, embodiments, and features are also claimed and described.

Reconfigurable and modular active repeater device

An active repeater device includes a primary sector and one or more secondary sectors, receives a first beam of input RF signals. A first set of analog baseband signals, are generated based on received first beam of input RF signals. The first set of analog baseband signals are converted to a first set of coded data signals and control information is extracted from the first set of coded data signals by decoding only a header portion of the first set of coded data signals without demodulation of data portion of the first set of coded data signals. Based on the extracted control information, the first set of coded data signals are transmitted as beams of output RF signals to remote user equipment. The transmission is independent of demodulation of the data portion within the active repeater device to reduce latency for transmission of the first set of coded data signals.

Radio frequency domain beamforming router

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described in which RF-domain wireless routers may repeat, extend, or redirect beamformed wireless signals received from one or more transmitters to one or more receivers. The router may receive transmissions at a mmW frequency using a first array of antenna elements, and provide the transmissions to a beamforming network, such as a Butler matrix, that outputs one or more a signals to a switching network. The switching network may perform switching to provide the one or more signals to desired inputs of an output beamforming network that outputs beamformed transmission beams via a second array of antenna elements.

A device and method for repeating wireless electromagnetic signals from a first side of a space divider to a second side of the space divider. The device provides discriminated communication channels at a first frequency range between the two spaces. The device includes a dual polarized repeater including a dielectric member, and conductive members as a group of radiators. The dual polarized repeater is installed into a discontinuity region of the space divider and provides an increment of a bistatic radar cross section through the discontinuity region for a first and second incident signals. A part of the first incident signal is scattered as a first beam by the device, and a part of the second incident signal is scattered as a second beam on the second side of the space divider. The dual polarized repeater provides cross polarization discrimination for the first and second incident signals.
