AMPLIFICATION ADJUSTMENT TECHNIQUES FOR A WIRELESS REPEATER
Techniques for optimizing a repeater gain during installation includes determining an oscillation reduction factor for reducing oscillation caused by feedback in the repeater. An indication of the oscillation reduction factor can be output to a user for use in determining an optimal antenna installation location and/or orientation.
REDUCING OSCILLATION IN A SIGNAL BOOSTER
Technology for a repeater is disclosed. The repeater can include one or more amplification and filtering signal paths. The repeater can include a controller. The controller can detect an oscillation in the repeater. The controller can reduce a gain in the repeater by a first amount to cease the oscillation in the repeater. The controller can reduce the gain in the repeater further by a second amount to create an oscillation margin. The controller can modify the gain in the repeater further by a third amount to create an offset to the oscillation margin.
Wireless repeater chain to exert frequency control
A wireless repeater chain exerts frequency control. A source wireless repeater wirelessly repeats a Radio Frequency (RF) signal that comprises multiple component frequencies. A target wireless repeater wirelessly receives and processes the repeated RF signal to determine frequency responses through the wireless repeater chain for each of the multiple component frequencies. The target wireless repeater processes the frequency responses to determine frequency gains for each of the multiple component frequencies. The target wireless repeater wirelessly transfers the frequency gains for each of the multiple component frequencies for delivery to the source wireless repeater. The source wireless repeater wirelessly receives the frequency gains for each of the multiple component frequencies and responsively applies the frequency gains to the multiple component frequencies.

The interference cancellation relay device includes: an interference cancellation unit cancelling an interference signal from an input signal and outputting the input signal from which the interference signal is removed; a gain control unit controlling a gain of an output signal of the interference cancellation unit; and a pre-distortion unit distorting the output signal of the interference cancellation unit, of which the gain is controlled by the gain control unit.
Method for detecting and handling oscillations in a signal booster device, a signal booster device and a means of transportation comprising a signal booster device
A signal booster device comprises at least one first antenna for communicating with a mobile, at least one second antenna for communicating with a base station, at least one amplifier and at least one power detector. The signal booster device adjusts a gain between the at least two antennas by altering an amplification factor. A normal operation gain is achieved by setting the amplification factor to a first amplification factor. An oscillation is detected by determining at least one first signal power, increasing the operation gain of the signal booster device by setting the amplification factor to a second amplification factor wherein the second amplification factor is higher than the first amplification factor, determining at least one second signal power, correlating the at least one first signal power with the at least one second signal power; and determining whether a status of the signal booster device is oscillation or normal based upon the result of the correlation.

In a repeater control device for controlling a communication repeater that has a beamforming function and relays a wireless communication signal including communication data addressed from a transmission device to a reception device, the repeater control device includes: a parameter determination unit that determines a gain adjustment value for adjusting input power to an amplifier that amplifies the wireless communication signal relayed by the communication repeater, on the basis of an evaluation value indicating communication quality in the reception device and calculated on the basis of: state information indicating a state of the communication repeater; a beam pattern requested when the communication repeater transmits the wireless communication signal to the reception device; transmission path information indicating a state of a transmission path between the communication repeater and the reception device; and reception device information indicating a state of the reception device.
NARROWBAND SIGNAL DETECTION
Technology for a repeater is disclosed. The repeater can measure a first power level within a passband. The repeater can adjust a gain of the repeater by a selected amount. The repeater can measure a second power level within the passband. The repeater can calculate a difference between the first power level and the second power level. The repeater can determine that the repeater is approaching an oscillation when the difference is different than a selected amount by a predetermined threshold.
