The present invention provides a data transmission method, apparatus and system. The method includes: in a detection period, receiving a first pilot signal sent by an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), the first pilot signal being a downlink signal obtained by modulating a useful signal at a preset candidate frequency, and the preset candidate frequency including a frequency in a same frequency band and/or different frequency bands; determining a downlink operating frequency from the preset candidate frequency according to the first pilot signal; sending a first feedback signal to the UAV, the first feedback signal including information about the downlink operating frequency; and receiving downlink data sent by the UAV and modulated at the downlink operating frequency. In this way, frequency detection in a same frequency band and/or across frequency bands is implemented to select an optimal preset candidate frequency as an operating frequency, so that data transmission between a UAV and a remote control is more stable, interference from an external signal is reduced, and quality of data transmission between the UAV and a ground end is improved.

Disclosed systems and methods configure a plurality of wireless access points to perform probe request handling operations including, responsive to receiving a probe request from a mobile device, relaying the probe request to a network controller, and responsive to receiving a probe response from the network controller, relaying the probe response to the mobile device. The network controller is configured to provide the mobile device with a multipoint wireless network by identifying two or more of the plurality of wireless access points as selected access points for multipoint transmission with the mobile device, coordinating the selected access points to allow simultaneous transmissions to the mobile device from each of the selected access points, and forwarding a probe response indicative of the selected access points to the selected access points.

Gateway retrieval alert device for aircraft pushback operations

A gateway retrieval alert device is configured for use in an aircraft ground support system. The gateway retrieval alert device is connected to an intercom gateway, either through a direct wireless connection or through a direct connection to a headset of a tug operator, the headset in turn being wirelessly connected to the intercom gateway. The integrity of the wireless link to the intercom gateway is monitored, and when the integrity of the link falls below a set threshold, an alert is issued. The alert is issued externally to the communication network between the ground crew and pilot.

DETERMINING A CORRECTION TO BE APPLIED TO A MAIN BEAM OF AN ANTENNA SYSTEM FOR A MOVING VEHICLE

An antenna system for a moving vehicle, the antenna system comprising: a main antenna to generate a main beam; a measurement antenna to generate a measurement beam; and control circuitry to perform an adjustment process by: rotating the main beam to an initial bearing angle; rotating the measurement beam independently of the main beam to receive signals at positions to either side of the initial bearing angle; comparing at least one metric measured for the signals received by the measurement antenna at the positions to either side of the initial bearing angle to generate a comparison output; and determining, based on the comparison output, a correction to be applied to the initial bearing angle of the main beam.

Delivery of electrical power
11563329 · 2023-01-24 · ·

A tethered aircraft or balloon carrying a communications base station for rapid deployment in emergency situations. Electrical power is delivered from a generator on the ground using a pulsed electrical supply system in which each power pulse is delivered over a cable and acknowledged, and pulses only continue to be delivered whilst such acknowledgements are received by the ground station. This reduces the risks associated with delivering electrical power over an aerial tether, and avoids the need for an earth (ground) connection, reducing the risk from lightning.

BEAM POINTING FINE TUNING FOR VEHICLE-BASED ANTENNAS

A vehicle communication system includes a controller configured to be communicatively coupled to one or more antennas. The controller is also configured to adjust a beam during a period of time to be oriented at a plurality of pointing angles, and detect a plurality of sets of signal data for a received signal, where each set of signal data is detected at a different one of the pointing angles. The controller is further configured to identify a particular pointing angle based on the plurality of sets of signal data, reorient another beam from the given pointing angle to the particular pointing angle, and transmit or receive data, via the other beam while the other beam is oriented at the particular pointing angle, between a particular external node and at least one internal node.

METHODS AND APPARATUS FOR MONITORING A KINEMATIC STATE OF AN UNMANNED AERIAL VEHICLE

A method of monitoring a kinematic state of an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) is provided. The method comprises obtaining one or more predicted pathlosses between a UAV and one or more base stations at a first time instance, wherein the predicted pathlosses are determined using an estimate of a kinematic state of the UAV at the first time instance and one or more pathloss models developed using a machine-learning process. The method further comprises obtaining one or more measurements of a pathloss between each of the one or more base stations and the UAV at the first time instance, and re-determining the estimate of the kinematic state of the UAV at the first time instance based on the one or more predicted pathlosses and the one or more measurements of the pathloss.
