DUAL MODE THREE-DIMENSIONAL BREAST IMAGING DEVICE AND METHOD
A method and apparatus for dual mode imaging uses an ultrasonic detection device, a diffuse optical tomography (DOT) detection device for imaging a breast. The DOT detection device is configured to detect changes of tissue blood oxygen. A host machine in communication with the ultrasonic detection device and the DOT detection device is used for imaging the breast by simultaneously generating functional images and structural information images of the breast based on the imaging.
Method for postural independent location of targets in diagnostic images acquired by multimodal acquisitions and system for carrying out the method
A method for postural independent location of targets in diagnostic images acquired by multimodal acquisitions, compensating for deformation of soft tissues due to changing posture, includes generating a transition of a digital image of the inside of a target region from a first to a second position by correlating the position of markers placed on the external surface of the target region in a digital image of the inside of the target region and in a digital representation of the external surface of the target region acquired by optically scanning the external surface; and at a later time registering the diagnostic image of the inside of the target region, transitioned into the second position, with a diagnostic image of the same target region acquired with the target region in the second position by matching a second representation of the external surface of the target region in the second position without markers with the diagnostic image of the inside of the target region transitioned into the second position.
Systems and methods for improving soft tissue contrast, multiscale modeling and spectral CT
Systems and methods for improving soft tissue contrast, characterizing tissue, classifying phenotype, stratifying risk, and performing multi-scale modeling aided by multiple energy or contrast excitation and evaluation are provided. The systems and methods can include single and multi-phase acquisitions and broad and local spectrum imaging to assess atherosclerotic plaque tissues in the vessel wall and perivascular space.
Histotripsy systems and methods
A histotripsy therapy system configured for the treatment of tissue is provided, which may include any number of features. Provided herein are systems and methods that provide efficacious non-invasive and minimally invasive therapeutic, diagnostic and research procedures. In particular, provided herein are optimized systems and methods that provide targeted, efficacious histotripsy in a variety of different regions and under a variety of different conditions without causing undesired tissue damage to intervening/non-target tissues or structures.
System and method for diagnostic vector classification support
The diagnostic vector classification support system and method disclosed herein may both reduce the time and effort required to train radiologists to interpret medical images, and provide a decision support system for trained radiologists who, regardless of training, have the potential to miss relevant findings. In an embodiment, a morphological image is used to identify a zone of interest in a co-registered functional image. An operator's grading of a feature at least partially contained within the zone of interest is compared to one or more computer-generated grades for the feature. Where the operator and computer-generated grades differ, diagnostic support can be provided such as displaying additional images, revising the zone of interest, annotating one or more displayed images, displaying a computer-generated feature grade, among other possibilities disclosed herein.
Automated health check device and methods
An automated health check device and methods, the device comprising: at least one imaging sensor configured for capturing at least one image of at least an area confined by a window of the vehicle; at least one vital signs sensor configured for measuring a health parameter of a passenger at the area confined by the window; and at least one processor configured for: acquiring and analyzing the at least one image to determine location of the window; determining based on the determined location of the window a location of the passenger; determining the at least one vital signs sensor being oriented to a predetermined point of view in relation to the location of the passenger determined; and obtaining a measurement of the health parameter of the passenger from the at least one vital signs sensor.
Ablation Monitoring System and Method
A system and method are presented for treating targeted tissue using cryoablation. An introducer canula and a cryoprobe are inserted the targeted tissue. The cryoprobe is cooled and an ice ball is formed. The cryoprobe is removed while the ice ball is still frozen, and an ultrasound catheter is inserted. Ultrasound generated within the ice ball is used to determine the distance from the ultrasound catheter to a perimeter of the ice ball. This is repeated at different angles to model a slice of the ice ball. The ultrasound catheter is moved radially, and the process is repeated to create a model of at least a portion of the ice ball. The ice ball model can be displayed on a registered set of images representing the targeted tissue to ensure that the tissue lies within the treatment zone of the ice ball.
ULTRASONIC IMAGING SYSTEM
An ultrasonic imaging system includes an ultrasonic probe and a processing unit. The ultrasonic probe is operable at multiple different tilt angles to perform ultrasonic measurement and to obtain a plurality 2D ultrasonic images corresponding respectively to the different tilt angles. The processing unit calculates a 3D ultrasonic images based on the 2D ultrasonic images and the corresponding tilt angles.
METHODS AND DEVICES FOR REGISTRATION OF IMAGE DATA SETS OF A TARGET REGION OF A PATIENT
A method for registering image data sets of a target region of a patient includes selecting a first anatomical structure only or at least partially only visible in the first image data set, and a second anatomical structure only or at least partially only visible in the second image data set, such that there is a known geometrical relationship between extended segments of the anatomical structures; automatically determining a first geometry information describing the geometry of at least a part of the first anatomical structure and a second geometry information describing the geometry of at least a part of the second anatomical structure, neither information being sufficient to enable registration of the image data sets on its own; automatically optimizing transformation parameters describing a rigid transformation of one of the anatomical structures with respect to the other and geometrical correspondences; and determining registration information from the optimized transformation parameters.
UPDATING AN INDICATION OF A LUMEN LOCATION
Apparatus and methods are described including an endoluminal device configured to move along a portion of a lumen of a subject's body, an extraluminal imaging device, and at least one computer processor. While the endoluminal device moves along the portion of the lumen, a display displays an extraluminal image of the lumen in which a first indication of a location of the lumen is shown. The extraluminal imaging device acquires a sequence of extraluminal images of the endoluminal device moving along the portion of the lumen. The indication of the location of the lumen that is displayed is updated based upon the acquired sequence of extraluminal images, and the acquired sequence of images is displayed with the updated indication of the location of the lumen overlaid upon the images. Other applications are also described.
