LEADLESS CARDIAC PACEMAKER DEVICE CONFIGURED TO PROVIDE HIS BUNDLE PACING
A leadless cardiac pacemaker device is configured to provide HIS bundle pacing and contains a housing having a tip, a first electrode arranged on the housing in the vicinity of the tip, the first electrode being configured to engage with intra-cardiac tissue, and a second electrode arranged on the housing at a distance from the tip of the housing. A processor is enclosed in the housing and operatively connected to the first electrode and the second electrode. The processor is configured to process a reception signal received by at least one of the first electrode and the second electrode and to generate a pacing signal to be emitted using at least one of the first electrode and the second electrode.
Methods and apparatus for increasing cerebral blood flow
Methods and apparatus for increasing cerebral blood flow for improving the flow of blood to the brain during and/or following an ischaemic stroke. The apparatus includes a plurality of inflatable cuffs to be positioned, in use, around a respective limb of a patient. Once inflated, the cuffs exert a pressure upon the limb to reduce blood flow to the limb below the point at which the cuff is positioned. Reducing blood flow to the limbs causes an increase in blood flow to the brain, and will therefore improve stroke outcomes. The apparatus includes a control module for controlling inflation and deflation of each cuff. The control module detects, measures and monitors cerebral blood flow and uses these measurements to control inflation and deflation of each cuff such that cerebral blood flow is maintained above a baseline level during treatment of the patient.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR SELECTIVELY OCCLUDING THE SUPERIOR VENA CAVA FOR TREATING HEART CONDITIONS
Systems and methods and devices are provided for treating conditions such as heart failure and/or pulmonary hypertension by at least partially occluding flow through the superior vena cava for an interval spanning multiple cardiac cycles. A catheter with an occlusion device is provided along with a controller that actuates a drive mechanism to provide at least partial occlusion of the patient’s superior vena cava, which reduces cardiac filling pressures, and induces a favorable shift in the patient’s Frank-Starling curve towards healthy heart functionality and improved cardiac performance. The occlusion device may include a lumen obstructed by a relief valve that may permit fluid flow through the occlusion device to release an excessive build-up of pressure.
SYSTEM FOR MONITORING OR TREATING A MEDICAL CONDITION OF A PATIENT
A system for treating and/or monitoring a medical condition of a patient comprises: an implant configured to be inserted into a body space of the patient, such as the left atrial appendage. The implant comprises a frame or ring configured to engage tissue of the patient proximate the body space. Methods of treating and/or monitoring a medical condition of a patient are also provided.
Thermoregulatory manipulation of systemic blood pressure
A system and/or method for proactively inducing a significant drop in blood pressure during sleep is provided herein. The system includes a blood pressure monitor and a stimulating device that provides stimulation to at least a portion of the person's body. For example, the stimulating device may stimulate a portion of the person's body corresponding to the person's peripheral thermoregulatory control tissue. The stimulation increases or maintains blood flow in the person's glabrous tissue. Additionally, the stimulating device provides stimulation in response to the person's blood pressure being above a predetermined threshold.
SYSTEM AND METHODS FOR TREATING MVO
MVO is treated by introducing injectate into blood vessels affected by MVO at precise flow rates, while blocking retrograde flow, such that the natural pumping of the heart aids in forcing the injectate into the affected microvessels. Monitoring pressure distal of an occlusion balloon is used to determine treatment effectiveness and heart health.
INTERLOCKING SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR JOYSTICKS IN A CATHETER PROCEDURE SYSTEM
An interlocking system for a joystick in a catheter procedure system includes a joystick configured to generate a first voltage output signal based on a linear activation of the joystick and a second voltage output signal based on a rotational activation of the joystick. A joystick cover is disposed over the joystick and includes an upper portion having an electrode plating on an inner surface of the upper portion and a lower portion having an inner surface. A capacitive touch detection circuit is coupled to the electrode plating of the upper portion of the joystick cover and is mounted on the inner surface of the lower portion of the joystick cover. The capacitive touch detection circuit is configured to detect a proximal change in capacitance in the electrode plating of the upper portion of the joystick cover and to generate a touch output signal to indicate whether a change in capacitance has been detected. A signal enable circuit is coupled to the joystick and the capacitive touch detection circuit and is configured to generate a linear enable voltage output signal and a rotational enable voltage output signal based on whether a change in capacitance has been detected.
DEVICES, SYSTEMS, AND METHODS USEFUL TO ENGAGE TISSUE USING SUCTION AND TO PERFORM MEDICAL PROCEDURES DURING SUCTIONAL ENGAGEMENT
Devices, systems, and methods useful to engage tissue using suction and to perform medical procedures during sectional engagement. The present disclosure includes disclosure of a tension apparatus, comprising an elongated portion; and a head portion at a distal end of the elongated portion, the head portion comprising one or more arms, whereby a suction lumen extending along the elongated portion and the one or more arms terminates at one or more suction openings at each of the one or more arms.
CONTROL ALGORITHM ADJUSTMENT FOR A SURGICAL STAPLING ASSEMBLY BASED ON SITUATIONAL AWARENESS
A method of adjusting a staple parameter of a surgical stapling instrument is disclosed. The method includes determining, by a control circuit of the surgical stapling instrument, a first stroke length for a first staple driver of the surgical stapling instrument to drive a first row of staples of a circular stapling head assembly of the surgical stapling instrument; detecting, by the control circuit, a malformed staple in the first row of staples; adjusting, by the control circuit, the staple parameter, based on the detection of the malformed staple; and determining, by the control circuit, a second stroke length for a second staple driver of the surgical stapling instrument to drive a second row of staples of the circular stapling head assembly.
Controllers for robot-assisted surgical platforms
Various robotic surgical systems are provided. A robotic surgical system comprises a robotic tool, a control system, and a control module. The control system comprises a control console configured to receive a first user input, and also comprises a control unit in signal communication with the control console and the robotic tool. The control module is configured to receive a second user input, and is in signal communication with the control system.
