Modulation scheme in a wireless communication system

A system and method of DFT-S-OFDM modulation is provided that uses a set of frequency domain patterns. For a given transmitter, for a set of DFT-S-OFDM symbols, the frequency domain pattern changes according to a time domain hopping pattern. Advantageously, the time domain hopping patterns are defined to allow only a certain amount of overlap, for example for only one DFT-S-OFDM symbol, between any two time domain hopping patterns. This functions to reduce the effect of a collision, when two transmitters use the same frequency pattern, they will do so only for part of the overall transmission. Optionally, frequency domain spectral spreading is used in the transmitter. This can further reduce the PAPR. In the receiver, successive interference cancellation may be employed to reduce the effect of colliding transmissions.

NON-ORTHOGONAL MULTIPLE ACCESS (NOMA) USING RATE BASED RECEIVERS

An adaptive receiver system for UEs using NOMA. For example, a network node (e.g, an access point, such as a base station) obtains a first set of data points for a first decoding scheme, each data point included in the first set of data points identifying a maximum achievable rate for the first UE and a maximum achievable rate for the second UE. The network node uses the first set of data points, a first rate demand for a first UE, and a second rate demand for a second UE to determine a decoding scheme for decoding a message transmitted by one of the first UE and a transmission point of the network node.

Transmission apparatus, reception apparatus, control station, communication system, and transmission precoding method

A base station serving as a transmission apparatus includes a plurality of transmission antennas capable of forming beams directed to a plurality of terminals, which are reception apparatus, and a precoder configured to perform outer precoding on transmission signals transmitted from the plurality of transmission antennas. The plurality of terminals include at least one first reception apparatus, which are transmission destinations of the transmission signals, and second reception apparatus, which are reception apparatus other than the first reception apparatus. The precoder performs outer precoding on the transmission signals transmitted from the plurality of transmission antennas so that received power in the second reception apparatus among the plurality of reception apparatus is equal to or less than a threshold.

Selective channel feedback method and apparatus for use in wireless communication system

Systems, base stations, terminals, and methods for group-selective channel feedback in a wireless communication system are described. In one signal measurement method for a base station supporting Multiuser Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MU-MIMO), the base station allocates a group identifier to a terminal group for performing and reporting signal measurements simultaneously. When the base station transmits control information including the group identifier, each one of terminals belonging to the terminal group performs signal measurement, generates signal measurement feedback, and simultaneously transmits the signal measurement feedback to the base station.

Layer mapping, CSI feedback and HARQ feedback in mobile communications

Techniques and examples of layer mapping, channel state information (CSI) feedback and hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) feedback in mobile communications are described. A user equipment (UE) receives from a base station one or more reference signals, which may be non-zero power (NZP) or zero power (ZP), on one or more time-frequency resources indicated by a network via a communication link between the UE and the base station. The UE estimates, based on the receiving, a subspace spanned by a channel response of an interfering signal. The UE determines a precoding matrix indicator (PMI) based on the estimated subspace. The UE transmits to the base station a channel state information (CSI) feedback comprising at least the PMI. The PMI may include at least a first precoder and a second precoder.

Reference signal transmission techniques in wireless communications

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described that provide a number of groups of transmitters, each group of transmitters having at least one user equipment (UE), and each group of transmitters having an associated transmission opportunity (TXO) for transmission of a reference signal. A number of UEs may transmit transmissions to a base station according to non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) techniques in which two or more UEs concurrently transmit to the base station. Depending upon a number of UEs, a number of groups of transmitters, an overloading factor of NOMA transmissions, a system bandwidth, a time span of the reference signal TXO, or any combination thereof, a binary or non-binary orthogonal cover code (OCC) may be applied to transmitted reference signals, which the base station may use to identify reference signals from particular UEs.

The device includes a transmission processor configured to set each of transmission signal sequences of a plurality of power layers that are to be multiplexed using power allocation as a target and apply at least one of a scrambler using a scramble pattern and an interleaver using an interleave pattern corresponding to information regarding the power allocation.

DEEP LEARNING-BASED USER CLUSTERING IN MILLIMETER WAVE NON-ORTHOGONAL MULTIPLE ACCCESS COMMUNICATIONS

A method and network node for deep learning based user clustering in millimeter wave (mmWave) non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) are disclosed. According to one aspect, a method includes determining a minimum number of clusters to be served by the network node subject to a first constraint that limits a total number of WDs in each cluster. The method also includes assigning WDs to each cluster of the minimum number of clusters while or after the minimum number of clusters is determined, the determined minimum number of clusters and WD assignments being for a first spatial distribution of the plurality of WDs.
