The disclosure relates to technology for constructing an optical network. A central node is selected among a plurality of nodes in the optical network, and each of the nodes is connected to the central node via a set of superchannels, wherein each of the superchannels includes sub-carriers and has a same data rate. The network resources between the central node and each of the plurality of nodes are managed by dynamically allocating the sub-carrier bandwidths to support communication among the plurality of nodes via the superchannels, and wavelength selective switching is performed among the superchannels at the central node.

OPTICAL NETWORK SYSTEM, OPTICAL NODE DEVICE, AND OPTICAL NETWORK CONTROL METHOD

If wavelength defragmentation is performed during the operation of an optical network, an instantaneous interruption of a network arises; consequently, data are lost; therefore, an optical network control method according to an exemplary aspect of the present invention includes monitoring a data volume of a client signal to be transmitted using a plurality of optical subcarriers; and performing synchronously, depending on a variation in the data volume, an optical subcarrier changing process of changing an active optical subcarrier, of the plurality of optical subcarriers, to be used for transmitting the client signal, and a remapping process of remapping the client signal onto an active optical subcarrier after having been changed.

DEVICE AND METHOD FOR DESIGNING OPTICAL NETWORK

A network design device includes a processor. The processor determines a second wavelength allocation based on a first wavelength allocation that indicates a wavelength allocation for a plurality of optical lines established in a wavelength division multiplexing optical network. The processor searches for a disconnection target optical line that is requested to be disconnected in order to realize a transition from the first wavelength allocation to the second wavelength allocation from among the plurality of optical lines. The processor generates procedure information that indicates a procedure of the transition from the first wavelength allocation to the second wavelength allocation based on a difference between the first wavelength allocation and the second wavelength allocation and a searched disconnection target optical line.
