Provided is a method by a user equipment (UE) for providing a sponsoring service in a wireless communication system, the method comprising: determining at least one UE to be provided with the sponsoring service, accessing to a server providing the sponsoring service, and registering to the server providing the sponsoring service; and transmitting a request of the sponsoring service comprising identification information of the at least one UE, to the server providing the sponsoring service.

Special handling of a landing page

A device intercepts a request that includes a network address or a universal resource locator (URL) for a landing page and determines whether special handling is applicable when forwarding the landing page to the requesting device. When the special handling is applicable, the request is automatically redirected to a validation device, which determines whether the requesting device is eligible for the special handling. The validation device signs based on the determination and returns the signed request to the requesting device. The requesting device forwards the signed request to request the landing page and the special handling is selectively applied based on the signed request.

Providing network congestion information to mobile devices for sponsored data

A third-party application, executing at a mobile device, may be provided with information describing congestion levels in a network, such as a cellular wireless network through which the mobile device connects. In one implementation, the third-party application may select, based on the information describing the congestion levels, a data flow, from a number of data flows, to use when communicating with a destination device, each of the data flows being associated with different quality of service (QoS) parameters and being associated with different charging rates. The mobile device may communicate, through a proxy server, and using the selected data flow, with the destination device. The communication with the destination device may be implemented using sponsored data that is not charged to an account associated with an owner of the mobile device.

The method includes: receiving a service requirement from a PGW and an Internet-surfing policy corresponding to the service requirement; acquiring traffic control information from an upper-layer application according to the service requirement and the Internet-surfing policy, herein the traffic control information includes: state information of a policy counter to be monitored and a traffic slice corresponding to the state information of the policy counter; and issuing the state information of the policy counter and the traffic slice to the PGW. The technical solution provided by the present document achieves an effect of opening the traffic control to the upper-layer application, saves the unnecessary overhead and investment of a network layer, and improves the capability of a system to quickly deploy a traffic-refined application.

The core network device can receive, via a network interface, an indication of a change to a user preference associated with the user device. The core network device can transmit a notification message including a pseudonymous identifier, the notification message based at least in part on the indication of the change. The UE can transmit, via a network interface, information of an account associated with the UE to a content provider. The information can include the pseudonymous identifier. The UE can then render content received from the content provider. The content provider can receive, via a network, the pseudonymous identifier and a request for content. The content provider can determine a quality setting associated with the pseudonymous identifier, and provide the content based at least in part on the quality setting.
