A specific implementation of the method comprises: in response to detecting a trigger operation for a multimedia conference control, sending a multimedia conference start request to a server, wherein the server starts a multimedia conference in response to determining to start the multimedia conference on the basis of the multimedia conference start request; and in response to detecting a confirmation operation for a live broadcast conference confirmation control, sending live broadcast conference confirmation information to the server, wherein a live stream is generated on the basis of a received multimedia conference stream in response to the server receiving the live broadcast conference confirmation information, and in response to receiving the multimedia conference stream, and the multimedia conference stream is sent to the server by a participating subject of the multimedia conference. Thus, provided is a method for generating a live stream on the basis of the multimedia conference stream.

A data sharing method includes logging in a first account through a communication interface by a first receiver for establishing a link between the first receiver and a server corresponding to the communication interface, logging in a second account through the communication interface by a second receiver for establishing a link between the second receiver and the server corresponding to the communication interface, and transmitting image data from a first transmitter to the second receiver through the first receiver and the server for sharing the image data. The first receiver is linked to a first display. The second receiver is linked to a second display. The image data is shared with the first display and the second display.

A method is provided that includes receiving, at a media device and from a client device, a request for a temporary identifier for a group chat session, and provisioning, by the media device, the temporary identifier based on a device identifier of the media device. One example method for controlling online meeting attendance includes obtaining meeting information associated with a meeting, the meeting information comprising a meeting identifier; receiving, by a video conferencing system from a client device, a request to join the meeting, the request comprising the meeting identifier; receiving a user identifier corresponding to a user; accessing a set of guest identifiers corresponding to a plurality of meeting guests invited to the meeting; determining that the user is a meeting guest of the plurality of meeting guests based on the user identifier and a correspondence to a guest identifier of the set of guest identifier, wherein the user identifier is not in the set of guest identifiers; and responsive to determining that the user is a meeting guest of the plurality of meeting guests, connecting the client device to the meeting.

A method performed at a server configured to onboard devices in a conference room includes: receiving a log-in request from a user device; receiving a request from the user device for a first activation code for activating devices for use in the conference room; transmitting the first activation code to the user device; receiving a first request from a first device in the conference room for authorization to be used in the conference room, the first request including a second activation code; determining whether the second activation code matches the first activation code; if the second activation code matches the first activation code, authorizing the first device for use in the conference room; and if the second activation code does not match the first activation code, denying the first device for use in the conference room.

Asynchronous collaboration via a communication platform is described. A message representative of an asynchronous meeting can be displayed via a user interface of a communication platform. The user interface can include an affordance to enable a user to add a snippet of content to the asynchronous meeting. In response to detecting an actuation of the affordance, an input user interface that includes an option to record or upload the snippet of content can be displayed. The snippet of content can be received from a client of a user associated with the asynchronous meeting and can be associated with other snippet(s) of content added by other user(s) associated with the asynchronous meeting. A preview summary of snippet(s) of content associated with the asynchronous meeting can be displayed in association with the message, wherein each snippet of content is viewable via a thread associated with the message.
