Service interruption reporting
There is provided mechanisms for service interruption reporting of a multicast bearer for group communications. A method is performed by a client node. The method comprises obtaining instruction from a control node of the multicast bearer, where the instruction instructs whether or not the client node is to report service interruption of the multicast bearer. The method comprises detecting service interruption of the multicast bearer. The method comprises selectively reporting the service interruption to the control node in accordance with the instruction.
VIRTUAL COLLABORATION WITH PARTICIPANT DISRUPTION NOTIFICATIONS
A notification is provided to participants in a collaboration session when another participant is possibly experiencing a disruptive event. Information sources, such as network web services maintained by governments, public utilities, or media organizations are queried to determine when a potentially disruptive event is occurring and an affected location. Locations of participants are then compared to locations of any disruptive events. If it is determined that a participant may be experiencing a disruption, the other participants are notified of the disruption.
RELIABLE MULTICAST TRANSMISSION WITH COMPACT PROTOCOL STACK
Apparatus and methods are provided for reliable multicast transmission with compact protocol stack. In one novel aspect, compact protocol stacks are configured for the UE and the base station handling both the PTM RB and the PTP RB. The compact protocol stack is either configured a compact RLC entity or a compact PDCP entity. The UE monitors a PTM LCH and a PTP LCH and sends feedback to the network with the PTP RB. The base station transmits MBS data packets in the PTM mode to the one or more subscriber UE, monitors feedback report from each subscriber UEs through corresponding PTP RB, and retransmits MBS data packets to one or more UEs through corresponding PTP RBs based on corresponding feedback reports. PTM-to-PTP and PTP-to-PTM mode switches are performed when triggering events are detected. The mode switch notification is sent to UEs via MAC CE or RLC control PDU.
BROADCAST SESSION ESTABLISHMENT
There are provided measures for enabling/realizing broadcast session establishment, particularly improved broadcast session establishment within a multicast/broadcast service. Such measures exemplarily comprise that an access management element or function in a mobile communication system issues, in response to a request of broadcast session establishment from a session management element or function, one or more requests of broadcast session establishment operation to one or more radio access elements or functions, issuing a response of broadcast session establishment to the session management element or function, and provides an indication of completion of broadcast session establishment operation at the radio access elements or functions to the session management element or function upon obtaining a response of broadcast session establishment operation from all of the radio access elements or functions.
Methods, apparatus and machine-readable mediums relating to establishment of broadcast/multicast bearers
Embodiments of the disclosure provide a method performed by a broadcast/multicast server for a communication network. The method comprises: receiving, from an application server, a request to establish a broadcast/multicast bearer in the communication network; allocating resources associated with the broadcast/multicast bearer in the communication network; and sending, to the application server, a response message comprising an indication of whether the allocation of the resources associated with the broadcast/multicast bearer is ongoing or not. Corresponding apparatus and methods and apparatus in the application server, are also provided.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR MULTICAST-BROADCAST SERVICE AREA CONTROL IN WIRELESS COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
The present disclosure relates to multicast-broadcast service (MBS) area control in wireless communications. According to an embodiment of the present disclosure, a method performed by a distributed unit (DU) in a wireless communication system comprises: transmitting, to a central unit (CU), information informing multicast-broadcast service (MBS) areas supported by the DU; receiving, from the CU, configurations for one or more MBS areas comprising a configuration for a first MBS area and a configuration for a second MBS area; providing an MBS service to a plurality of wireless devices based on the configuration for the first MBS area; receiving, from the plurality of wireless devices, feedback information for the first MBS area; transmitting, to the CU, a status message comprising an identity (ID) of the first MBS area and information obtained from the feedback information for the first MBS area; receiving, from the CU, a message for requesting a change of an MBS area, wherein the message comprises information for the second MBS area; and providing an MBS service based on the configuration for the second MBS area.
Single cell point to multi-points network system and data transmission method thereof
A single cell point to multi-points (SC-PTM) network system and a data transmission method thereof are provided. The SC-PTM network system includes a base station and a first mobile station group and a second mobile station group. The base station multicasts a message to the mobile station groups via a first bearer, and receives a plurality of confirmation notifications from the mobile station groups. The base station determines a data transmitting status of the mobile stations and re-transmits the message to the mobile stations of the group which has higher priority.
WIRELESS COMMUNICATION DEVICE, METHOD OF WIRELESS COMMUNICATION, AND PROGRAM
A wireless communication device and associated method more flexibly changes a destination of an acknowledgement request. The wireless communication device includes a wireless communication interface to communicate wirelessly with another wireless communication device, and a controller to control the wireless communication interface to transmit, to the other wireless communication device, a first message that requests change in a destination of an acknowledgement request frame relating to multicast transmission by the other wireless communication device.
Systems and methods for communicating using random codewords located within a restricted subset of a multi-dimensional sphere
Communication systems and methods in accordance with various embodiments of the invention employ a rateless coding strategy in which an encoder utilizes codewords located within a restricted subset of a multi-dimensional sphere. In one embodiment, a transmitter is configured to encode message data as symbols using a rateless code until an end of epoch message is received, where the rateless code comprises a set of codewords characterized in that they are located within a restricted subset of a multi-dimensional sphere. A receiver receives observed symbols and at each of a predetermined set of decode times, determines whether a decoding rule is satisfied. When the decoding rule is satisfied, the receiver decodes at least one message using the rateless code and transmits an end of epoch message.
