SMART TRAILER SYSTEM

A smart trailer system coupled to a trailer of a vehicle includes a sensor configured to measure a parameter of the trailer, a sensor interface board electrically coupled to the sensor and configured to retrieve the measured parameter, and a master controller communicatively coupled to the sensor interface board via a data bus.

Multi-level video processing within a vehicular communication network

A system for controlling power distribution within a vehicular communication network, including a power source equipment comprising a first port in communication with a network node module of a device, and a Power over Ethernet (POE) management module. The POE management module is configured to enable POE to the device via the first port, monitor a current draw of the device, determine whether the current draw of the device exceeds a threshold, and disable POE to the device, responsive to determining that the current draw exceeds the threshold.

A wireless thermostat may be associated with a user account of an external web service that may facilitate remote access and/or control of the wireless thermostat. A remote device may be used to access a user's account hosted by the external web service. The wireless thermostat may be identified to the external web service and associated with the user's account by one or more unique identifiers previously delivered to the remote device from the wireless thermostat.

Automated access to racks in a colocation data center

Top-of-rack (TOR) switches are connected to a network fabric of a data center. Each TOR switch corresponds to a rack of the data center, and is configured to provide access to the network fabric for computing devices mounted in the rack. In one method, a TOR switch is mounted in a rack. The TOR switch is connected to a network fabric of a data center. A lock is used to control physical access to the rack. A request to physically access the rack is received from a computing device (e.g., a badge implementing a security token, or a mobile device). The request includes authentication credentials. The computing device is then authenticated. In response to authenticating the computing device, the lock is configured to provide physical access to the rack.

Contextual application interactions with connected devices

Systems and methods for providing contextual interaction with connected devices are described. A mobile device having a display that presents a user interface enabling access to functionalities provided by connected devices. The user interface may be updated as various contextually-related data is received. For example, data representing a current position of the mobile device, such as Bluetooth low energy beacon signals, WiFi signals, and the like, may be monitored. In response to determining that the current position is within a threshold proximity of a first location, the user interface may be updated to emphasize a first location interface corresponding to the first location over interfaces corresponding to other locations.

First network node, second network node, and methods performed thereby for tracing a packet in a pipeline

Methods for tracing a packet in a pipeline comprising a set of tables, in an SDN using OpenFlow. The packet comprises a trace bit, and is provided with a TTL value. A first network node indicates to a second network node to have each flow table decrement the TTL value by 1, based upon the trace bit. The first network node initially sets the TTL to be 1, and then sends the packet to a first table in the second network node. The first network node receives the packet, from another table in the set, and for every remaining table, and one table at a time: a) increments the TTL value by 1, and b) repeats the sending, and the receiving, until a last table is reached or a criterion is met. The first network node then indicates a route followed by the packet.

Communication method, communications apparatus, and system

Methods, systems, and apparatus for communications are provided. In one aspect, a communication method including: determining, by a first communications apparatus, buffer latency information, and sending, by the first communications apparatus, the buffer latency information. The buffer latency information is determined based on a buffer latency of one or more data packets. The buffer latency indicates one of a time interval between a time point at which a data packet arrives at an access stratum (AS) and a time point at which a corresponding buffer status report (BSR) is sent, or a time interval between a time point at which a data packet arrives at an AS and a time point at which a corresponding uplink grant is received.

The disclosure includes a method for using a doorbell system to detect a presence of a visitor. The doorbell system can comprise a doorbell having a speaker, a microphone, a camera, and a button. The method can include detecting, by the doorbell system, the presence of the visitor while the visitor is located outside a building to which the doorbell is attached. The building can include a door having a lock that is configured to fasten the door to inhibit unauthorized entry into the building. In response to detecting the presence of the visitor, the method can include the step of actuating, by the doorbell system, a first appliance associated with the building.
