Connectivity fault management in a communication network

Methods and apparatus are disclosed for monitoring a Maintenance Association (MA) for Connectivity Fault Management (CFM) in a network supporting Equal Cost Multiple Paths (ECMP). A set of ECMP paths is generated for sending data between endpoints in the network. Furthermore, a set of ECMP MAs is created that are used for monitoring the generated ECMP paths between the endpoints. The created set of ECMP MAs is subsequently used for sending monitoring packets. ECMP path MAs therefore conform to existing CFM operation and are compatible with both ECMP point to point path MAs and ECMP multipoint path MAs.

Data converter for emergency service network

A disclosed method includes establishing a secure authenticated network connection between an apparatus located at an emergency communication center (ECC) location and operatively coupled to an ECC functional entity, and an application programming interface (API) endpoint in the cloud; performing an authentication procedure between the apparatus and the application programming interface (API) endpoint in the cloud upon establishment of an internet connection to the apparatus; obtaining data from the functional entity by the apparatus and appending ECC identification information; sending the data as packet data comprising the ECC identification information to the API endpoint; and providing a portal graphical user interface to at least one ECC entity that displays enhanced emergency call data using the packet data.
