Methods and devices for treating obesity, incontinence, and neurological and physiological disorders
Methods and devices are disclosed that provide therapeutic benefit and treatment for a variety of neurologic and physiologic conditions that include obesity, urinary incontinence, and sensory system disorders.
Reflectance-facilitated ultrasound treatment and monitoring
Apparatus comprising an ultrasound ablation system, which comprises a reflection-facilitation element, configured to be placed at an extramyocardial site of a subject, and to provide an extramyocardial reflective region; and an ultrasound tool, which comprises at least one ultrasound transducer configured to be positioned within a heart chamber of the subject. The ultrasound transducer is configured to ablate myocardial tissue by applying ultrasound energy to the myocardial tissue such that at least a portion of the transmitted energy is reflected by the reflective region onto the myocardial tissue. Other embodiments are also described.
Systems, methods, and devices for monitoring and treatment of tissues within and/or through a lumen well
A system for controlled sympathectomy procedures is disclosed. A system for controlled micro ablation procedures is disclosed. Methods for performing a controlled surgical procedure are disclosed. A system for performing controlled surgical procedures in a minimally invasive manner is disclosed. Systems and methods for accessing target tissues as part of a neuromodulation procedure from within a lumen are disclosed.
PREOPERATIVE DETECTION METHOD AND A POSTOPERATIVE DETECTION METHOD FOR NEUROMAPPING
The present application provides a preoperative detection method and a postoperative detection method for neuromapping, comprising releasing an electrical signal towards the renal artery blood vessel on one lateral side of the body of the patient by the electrode element; monitoring a heart rate by an electrocardiogram monitoring module, and monitoring a blood pressure change in said another renal artery blood vessel on the other lateral side of the body of the patient by the pressure sensor, and determining a nerve activity degree of the patient by judging whether the heart rate and the blood pressure change reach certain thresholds and making determinations in relation to the nerve activity degree so as to screen out the patients with an overactive sympathetic nerve, and a surgical effect of a denervation surgery can also be evaluated before or after the surgery, and can be used to determine whether to perform an ultrasonic ablation again.
VARIABLE GEOMETRY COOLING CHAMBER
The present invention provides a medical device that may include a catheter body having proximal and distal portions, a fluid injection lumen disposed within elongate body, and a guidewire lumen disposed within the elongate body. A tip portion defining a cavity in fluid communication with the fluid injection lumen may be coupled to the distal end of the guidewire lumen, and an expandable element may be coupled to the distal portion of the catheter body and to the tip portion, such that the expandable element is in fluid communication with the fluid injection lumen. A shaping element may at least partially surround the expandable element, where the shaping element is configurable in a first geometric configuration and a second geometric configuration.
Graphical user interface for real-time RF lesion depth display
A system for displaying characteristics of target tissue during an ablation procedure is provided that includes an electronic control unit (ECU) configured to receive data regarding electrical properties of the target tissue for a time period. The ECU is also configured to determine a value responsive to the data and indicative of at least one of a predicted depth of a lesion in the target tissue, a predicted temperature of the target tissue, and a likelihood of steam pop of the target tissue for the time period. The system further includes a display device operatively connected to the ECU. The display device is configured to receive the value and display a visual representation indicative of at least one of a predicted depth of a lesion in the target tissue, a predicted temperature of the target tissue, and a likelihood of steam pop of the target tissue for the time period.
Presenting quality measures of tissue ablation in a blood vessel using a two-dimensional map
A method includes, receiving multiple signals from multiple respective electrodes arranged along an inner circumference of a blood vessel that has been ablated. Based on the multiple signals, one or more quality measures of the ablated blood vessel are produced. A graphical presentation indicative of the one or more quality measures, is displayed to a user in a two-dimensional (2D) polar coordinate system.
