OPTICAL MM-WAVE SIGNAL GENERATION USING A SINGLE IQ MODULATOR
20170317760 · 2017-11-02 ·

A scheme for generating asymmetric single sideband photonic vector signal at millimeter wave spectral region is described. At a transmitter, information bits to be transmitted are modulated using a vector modulation technique to generate a baseband signal. The baseband signal is converted into its single sideband (SSB) version using a complex frequency source having a first frequency. The real part of the upconverted signal is added to the real part of a second frequency source and is input as I component to an I/Q modulator. The imaginary part of the upconverted signal is added to the imaginary part of the second frequency source and is used as the Q component. The I/Q modulator is driven by a laser source at frequency fc. The resulting signal is transmitter over an optical transmission medium and upconverted by a single-ended photodiode to a desired radio-frequency (RF) carrier frequency.

Circuits and methods for transmitting signals

For generating quantized signals, a quantized phase domain related to quantized phases of an input signal is generated. Vectors that the input signal may occupy are calculated based on the quantized phase domain. A first quantized phase of a first component of the input signal is generated per the quantized phase domain, and a second quantized phase of a second component of the input signal is generated per the quantized phase domain.

TRANSMITTER FOR FBMC SYSTEM WITH BLOCK-ALAMOUTI TYPE SPACE-TIME CODING

A transmission method and an FBMC transmitter to transmit at least a first and a second block of symbols (X.sub.0, X.sub.1), each symbols block including a temporal sequence of L vectors with predetermined size N. It uses a first and a second FBMC modulation channel, each FBMC modulation channel being associated with an antenna. During a first use of the channel, the vectors of the first block and the vectors of the second block are input to the first and to the second FBMC modulation channels respectively, in the order of the temporal sequence. During a second use of the channel, the vectors of the first and second blocks are multiplied by a factor j.sup.L 1 respectively and −(j.sup.L 1) input to the second and to the first FBMC modulation channels respectively, in the inverse order of the temporal sequence.

The present technology relates to a transmission method and a reception device for securing favorable communication quality in data transmission using an LDPC code. In group-wise interleaving, the LDPC code with a code length N of 69120 bits is interleaved in units of 360-bit bit groups 0 to 191. In group-wise deinterleaving, a sequence of the LDPC code after group-wise interleaving is returned to an original sequence. The present technology can be applied, for example, in a case of performing data transmission using an LDPC code, and the like.
