System for fixation of leaflets of a heart valve including a delivery catheter having an elongated shaft, a proximal end portion and a distal end portion configured to be positioned proximate native leaflets of a heart valve from a remote vascular access point, the delivery catheter further includes a rotatable actuator rod having a threaded fastener at a distal end thereof, and a fixation device releasably coupled by a threaded connection to the threaded fastener of the actuator rod. The fixation device includes a first arm moveable between a closed position and an open position, a second arm moveable between a closed position and an open position. The fixation device further includes a first gripping element movable relative to the first arm in the open position, the first gripping element biased toward the first arm to capture a first leaflet of the heart valve therebetween, and a second gripping element movable relative to the second arm in the open position, the second gripping element biased toward the second arm to capture a second leaflet of the heart valve therebetween. The first gripping element and the second gripping element each includes a plurality of barbs extending therefrom, the plurality of barbs of each of the first gripping element and the second gripping element being aligned transversely in at least one row. The fixation device further includes a covering disposed on each of the first gripping element and the second gripping element, wherein the plurality of barbs of the first gripping element and the second gripping element, respectively, protrude through the covering.

The tubular body can comprise a central lumen configured to hold an inflatable implant in an initial un-inflated state for delivery of the implant into the bladder. A method of use can include passing a distal tip of the elongate tubular body into the bladder. The implant can be inflated and released into the bladder.

The system further includes a delivery device including a catheter having a proximal end portion and a distal end portion, the implantable fixation device releasably coupled to the distal end portion of the catheter, the catheter defining at least one lumen extending between the proximal end portion and the distal end portion. The delivery device further includes a first proximal element line extending through the at least one lumen, the first proximal element line coupled to the first proximal element and actuatable to move the first proximal element between the first position and second position, and a second proximal element line extending through the at least one lumen, the second proximal element line coupled to the second proximal element and actuatable to move the second proximal element between the first position and second position. The first proximal element line and the second proximal element line are independently actuatable.

A method for providing support to a urethra in treating urinary incontinence includes passing first and second elongate members coupled to a urethral support through an incision in the vaginal wall, around sides of the urethra and behind a pubic bone. The method includes locating the urethral support under the urethra applying tension to one of the elongate members with a rotary force tensioner and adjusting tension of the urethral support.

Method and apparatus for closing off a portion of a heart ventricle
Apparatus and methods to reduce ventricular volume are disclosed. The device takes the form of a transventricular anchor, which presses a portion of the ventricular wall inward, thereby reducing the available volume of the ventricle. The anchor is deployed using a curved introducer that may be inserted into one ventricle, through the septum and into the opposite ventricle. Barbs or protrusions along the anchor body combined with a mechanical stop and a sealing member hold the device in place once deployed.
PROSTHETIC LIGAMENT SYSTEM FOR KNEE JOINT
A system for an anatomical joint includes a first fastener, a second fastener, a prosthetic ligament member, and a biasing member associated with at least one of the first and second fasteners. The first fastener is operable to be connected to a first bone portion. The second fastener is operable to be connected to a second bone portion. The prosthetic ligament member is flexible and is directly coupled to both the first and second fasteners to support the first bone portion and the second bone portion for relative movement. A portion of the prosthetic ligament member extends from the first fastener to the second fastener and has an adjustable length. The biasing member is operable to bias the prosthetic ligament member to thereby maintain tension in the prosthetic ligament member.
Soft locking suture anchor assembly and methods of use
A suture anchor assembly and methods of use will now are disclosed for the repair of human or animal tissue defects. The suture anchor assembly is capable of being inserted into a tissue such as bone while also being able to create an expanded profile when subjected to a retrograde force. This expanded profile anchors the suture anchor assembly into the tissue by a changing of position or shape of elements of the suture anchor assembly relative to other assembly elements and the tissue. Embodiments of the suture anchor assembly and methods are capable of precisely positioning assembly elements in the tissue to effectively repair the defects. Some embodiments of the suture anchor assembly are configured to allow for a tissue suture to be anchored without having to knot the tissue suture.

A system for an anatomical joint includes a first fastener, a second fastener, a prosthetic ligament member, and a biasing member associated with at least one of the first and second fasteners. The first fastener is operable to be connected to a first bone portion. The second fastener is operable to be connected to a second bone portion. The prosthetic ligament member is flexible and is directly coupled to both the first and second fasteners to support the first bone portion and the second bone portion for relative movement. A portion of the prosthetic ligament member extends from the first fastener to the second fastener and has an adjustable length. The biasing member is operable to bias the prosthetic ligament member to thereby maintain tension in the prosthetic ligament member.
