MAGNETIC BUTTON ADAPTER SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING
This invention features magnetic, laundry tolerant, no-sew button adapters that convert traditional shirt buttons into magnetic closures to help people with dexterity limitations. The adapters simply attach to any shirt to help make getting dressed easier and a restore a crucial activity of daily living. Users can simply push the lapels of a shirt together to engage magnetic force, activating the buttons to snap into place. The shirt can be opened easily by pulling the lapels apart to undress.
Removable button with magnetic disc insert assembly
A set of removable flexible polyurethane buttons with magnetic disc inserts that permit two fabrics including garments to become attached and unattached while each button remains secured to the fabric. Assembly includes three parts: a top-hat shaped rare earth magnet partially embedded into a flexible polyurethane disc; a flexible polyurethane button; and a decorative cover. Each of two button disc assemblies can be temporarily attached a fabric by pressing the flat side of the disc against the fabric and securing the flaps of the button over the fabric and disc exposing a magnet face of opposite polarity as the second attached button assembly. The magnets will attract to secure the fabrics together and when pulled apart the button disc assembly remains secured to the fabric. The decorative polyurethane cover can be attached to the face of the button to provide a smooth appearance.
Device to illuminate novelty buttons
A novelty button illumination device comprises a circular disk body having a circumferential rim. A recess is provided in the rim that holds in place one or more glow sticks. The illumination device engages a novelty button by either the novelty button's pre-existing pin-and-clutch fastening device or by a fastening device affixed to the illumination device. When engaged, the device together with the novelty pin may be worn on clothing and the like. The glow sticks are bent and snapped to activate a chemical light producing reaction and after such activation may be placed into the recess. Thereafter, during the time the glow sticks continue to glow, the novelty pin is illuminated by the glow sticks in the circumferential rim, enhancing the user's enjoyment in using the novelty pin illuminating device.

A novelty button illumination device comprises a circular disk body having a circumferential rim. A recess is provided in the rim that holds in place one or more glow sticks. The illumination device engages a novelty button by either the novelty button's pre-existing pin-and-clutch fastening device or by a fastening device affixed to the illumination device. Elastic tension changing headband
Embodiments provide a retention apparatus for a head-mounted device and a head-mounted apparatus including the retention apparatus and the head-mounted device. The retention apparatus includes left and right band portions arranged on respective sides of a user's head, which connect to the head-mounted device at one end, and include opposing free ends that are arrangeable toward a back side of the wearer's head. The retention apparatus includes left and right elastic straps and an adjustment mechanism. The adjustment mechanism is arrangeable at the back of the user's head and includes arms the telescope into and out of the adjustment mechanism. The elastic straps are attached to the left and right band portions at first ends and to respective arms of the adjustment mechanism at second ends. Adjustably moving the arms of the adjustment mechanism stretches or relaxes the elastic straps, adjusting tension of the retention apparatus.

A stuffed novelty including a stuffed article, a compressible material, a fastening mechanism, and an attachment band. The stuffed article has a fabric shell, and the compressible material is enclosed within the fabric shell. The fastening mechanism is attached to a first region of the stuffed article. The attachment band includes an elastic band coupled at a first end of the elastic band to a second region of the stuffed article. The second region of the stuffed article is remote from the first region of the stuffed article. A second end of the elastic band, opposite the first end of the elastic band, is configured to be removably attached to the fastening mechanism.

An apparel altering device and a method of using the same is provided. The apparel altering device has a spacer spacing apart a first and second portions. A user interested in altering an article of clothing, may gather or bunch excess material thereof to form a sack, which communicates via an opening to the remaining portion of the material. Before or after the user urges the second portion into the cavity portion defined by the formed sack, an elastic band can choke a neck portion of the sack against the spacer, whereby the article of clothing is taken in or otherwise altered, while the second portion protrudes outside the sack in a manner akin to a fashion accessory.

Described is an apparatus for keeping a martial arts belt secured around a student regardless of whether the knot of the belt becomes untied or not. The apparatus includes a flexible rectangularly-shaped sheet of material having first, second and third panels, which encircle a portion of the martial arts belt centered around an area of the belt where the knot is tied, when the apparatus is attached to the belt. A portion of the martial arts belt, which is used by the student to tie the knot, and/or the knot itself, extends transversely through at least a portion of hole(s) of the apparatus.
