An example system includes a second client device to transmit media to a first client device via a streaming monitor device, the streaming monitor device to operate as a Group Owner of a direct media network including the first and second client devices, identify media identification information and media device information, and transmit the media identification information and the media device information to the server, and the server to identify at least one of the first or second client devices based on the media device information, identify the media based on the media identification information, and generate a data association of the media and at least one of the first or second client devices, the data association based on a credit of the media as having been accessed by at least one of the first or second client devices.

MOBILE COMMUNICATION DEVICE CLUSTERING

A mobile communication device includes a network transceiver configured to communicate with a cellular network, a cluster transceiver configured to communicate with other mobile communication devices, and a communication management subsystem. The communication management subsystem is configured to send to each of a plurality of candidate mobile communication devices, a setup request, receive from each of the plurality of candidate mobile communication devices, a network signal strength, determine a network signal strength of the mobile communication device, if the network signal strength of the mobile communication device is greater than the network signal strength of each of the plurality of candidate mobile communication devices, send to the plurality of candidate mobile communication devices, a setup notification indicating that the mobile communication device is a cluster head configured to provide the candidate mobile communication devices with a connection to the cellular network via the network transceiver.

Method of transmitting contents and user's interactions among multiple devices

A method for transmitting contents and user's interactions among multiple devices is provided. The method includes determining a group of object devices including a portion of the plurality of object devices, transmitting the data to the object devices of the determined group, receiving confirmation information from the object device which completes receiving of the data, among the object devices of the determined group, determining a clone device based on the received confirmation information. The transmitted clone information is used to transmit the data from the determined clone device to at least one object device which is not included in the object devices of the determined group among the plurality of object devices.

Managing participants in an online session

The present invention relates to an application that is configured to be operated in a multi-participant environment on a computer network. The application manages participants in an online session of a multi-user application so that if one of the participants exits the session, the session can continue without interruption. The application initiates an online session of the multi-user application, wherein the online session includes two or more participants comprised of network computers that are communicatively linked to a computer network. If the application detects that a first participant has disconnected from the online session, wherein the first participant is responsible for managing certain managerial functionality associated with the running of the multi-user application, then the application broadcasts a notification to existing participants of the online session over the communication network, thereby notifying the existing participants that the first participant has disconnected from the online session. The initiating application then re-assigns the functionality associated with the first participant to an existing participant of the online session. The participants can be communicating in a peer-to-peer arrangement or can be performing server duties in a client-server arrangement.

Host Facility Assignment for a Conferencing Session

Techniques for host facility assignment for a conferencing session are described. Generally, a conferencing session refers to an exchange of communication media between communication endpoints. Accordingly to various embodiments, multiple different host facilities are available for hosting a conferencing session. Further to techniques described herein, a host facility from the different available host facilities is selected to perform hosting duties for the conferencing session. In at least some implementations, a host facility that is estimated to provide a highest session quality for the conferencing session is selected to host the conferencing session.

User device, a first peer node, and methods in a communications network

A method performed by a first peer node for acting as a P2P proxy for a user device is provided. The first peer node operates in a communications network. The first peer node establishes (201) a renewable energy profile of the first peer node used for powering the first peer node. The renewable energy profile indicates to what extent one or more energy sources are renewable. When a proportion of renewable energy according to the established renewable energy profile exceeds a first threshold, the first peer node acts (205) as a P2P proxy for the user device for downloading a piece of data to the user device by being powered according to its renewable energy profile.

A consensus process recovery method and a related node, where the method includes determining, by a plurality of nodes, a target instance from one or more secondary instances, where a throughput of the target instance is higher than a throughput of a primary instance, and obtaining, by a first node and all second nodes, a consensus to replace the primary instance with the target instance as a new primary instance, where the second nodes are backup nodes running the target instance, and the first node is a primary node running the target instance.

Two node clusters recovery on a failure

Systems and methods for high availability computing systems. Systems and methods include disaster recovery of two-node computing clusters. A method embodiment commences upon identifying a computing cluster having two nodes, the two nodes corresponding to a first node and a second node that each send and receive heartbeat indications periodically while performing storage I/O operations. One or both of the two nodes detect a heartbeat failure between the two nodes, and in response to detecting the heartbeat failure, one or both of the nodes temporarily cease storage I/O operations. A witness node is accessed in an on-demand basis as a result of detecting the heartbeat failure. The witness performs a leadership election operation to provide a leadership lock to only one requestor. The leader then resumes storage I/O operations and performs one or more disaster remediation operations. After remediation, the computing cluster is restored to a configuration having two nodes.

Consumption of data services provisioned in cloud infrastructures

An aspect of the present disclosure facilitates consumption of data services provisioned in cloud infrastructures. In one embodiment, a name server maintains a node-map data reflecting the corresponding set of nodes (in cloud infrastructures) currently hosting each of multiple data services. A consumer system (e.g. an end user system or another node in the cloud infrastructure) seeking to access a desired data service, sends to the name server a resolution request containing an identifier of the desired data service. The consumer system receives from the name server, identifiers of a set of nodes currently hosting the desired data service and then accesses the desired data service through at least one of the set of nodes.
