DEVICE FOR HEART REPAIR
A catheter device for repair of the heart by implanting an artificial chord is disclosed. The device comprises a leaflet anchor 10 for placement in a leaflet 12 of a heart valve, wherein the leaflet anchor 10 is arranged to be coupled to the artificial chord 14; and a mechanical gripper device 6 for grasping the leaflet 12 of the heart valve, wherein the gripper device 6 comprises a leaflet anchor channel for housing the leaflet anchor 10 in a folded configuration; the gripper device 6 and leaflet anchor 10 being arranged such that when, in use, the gripper device 6 grasps the leaflet 12, the leaflet anchor 10 can be pushed out of the leaflet anchor channel to pierce the leaflet 12 and form the leaflet anchor 10 into an unfolded configuration so that hooked formations of the leaflet anchor 10 can, in use, secure the leaflet anchor 10 in the leaflet 12.
METHODS, SYSTEMS AND DEVICES FOR CARDIAC VALVE REPAIR
Disclosed are methods, systems, and devices for the endovascular repair of cardiac valves, particularly the atrioventricular valves which inhibit back flow of blood from a heart ventricle during contraction. The procedures described herein can be performed with interventional tools, guides and supporting catheters and other equipment introduced to the heart chambers from the patient's arterial or venous vasculature remote from the heart. The interventional tools and other equipment may be introduced percutaneously or may be introduced via a surgical cut down, and then advanced from the remote access site through the vasculature until they reach the heart.
DEVICES, SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR TREATING BENIGN PROSTATIC HYPERPLASIA AND OTHER CONDITIONS
Devices, systems and methods for compressing, cutting, incising, reconfiguring, remodeling, attaching, repositioning, supporting, dislocating or altering the composition of tissues or anatomical structures to alter their positional or force relationship to other tissues or anatomical structures. In some applications, the invention may be used to used to improve patency or fluid flow through a body lumen or cavity (e.g., to limit constriction of the urethra by an enlarged prostate gland).
LUMINAL STRUCTURE ANCHORING DEVICES AND METHODS
The present invention relates to a device for endoscopy or endosonography-guided transluminal interventions whereby two luminal structures in the body may be drawn toward each other and a fluid conduit formed in between. The device may have a hollow central member to which is coupled a distal retention member and in one embodiment a proximal retention member. The retention members may each be positioned inside one of the luminal structures and expanded from a first condition to an expanded second condition having an increased radius. The length of the central member may be shortened and its diameter expanded to approximate the two retention members and thereby the luminal structures.
DEVICE FOR HEART REPAIR
An anchor for implantation in body tissue in combination with a line, the anchor comprising a plurality of hooks for engagement with the body tissue, and wherein the anchor is made of an elastic material such that the anchor can be elastically deformed into a folded position from an unfolded position by application of a constraining force. The anchor further comprising a locking mechanism for clamping the line when, and being elastically deformable to release the line for adjustment of a length of the line, wherein the locking mechanism comprises a resiliently deformable locking segment integrated with a wall of the anchor and divided from the wall by at least one slit; wherein the anchor comprises a tubular body section defining said wall of the anchor; and wherein the tubular body section, the locking mechanism and the plurality of hooks comprise a single, unitary structure comprising the elastic material.
Apparatus for mitral valve repair and methods thereof
A surgical snare assembly is disclosed. The surgical snare assembly has a suture fastener having an entrance and an exit. The surgical snare assembly also has first and second suture engaging loops. The surgical snare assembly further has first and second handles configured such that: a) movement of the first handle a first distance away from the suture fastener causes the first suture engaging loop to move through the suture fastener from the exit to the entrance; and b) movement of the second handle a second distance away from the suture fastener causes the second suture engaging loop to move through the suture fastener from the entrance to the exit.
SUTURE BASED CLAMPING DEVICE
Systems, assemblies, and methods are provided herein for fastening of one bone to another bone using one or more sutures. The features herein enable such fastening with a more accurate strength, and which can be more easily fastened in-situ.
METHODS AND DEVICES FOR INTRACORPOREAL BONDING OF IMPLANTS WITH THERMAL ENERGY
The present invention provides a method for stabilizing a fractured bone. The method includes positioning an elongate rod in the medullary canal of the fractured bone and forming a passageway through the cortex of the bone. The passageway extends from the exterior surface of the bone to the medullary canal of the bone. The method also includes creating a bonding region on the elongate rod. The bonding region is generally aligned with the passageway of the cortex. Furthermore, the method includes positioning a fastener in the passageway of the cortex and on the bonding region of the elongate rod and thermally bonding the fastener to the bonding region of the elongate rod while the fastener is positioned in the passageway of the cortex.
Minimally invasive suture placement system and methods thereof
A suture placement system is disclosed. The suture placement system has a plate defining a first opening spaced from a second opening. The suture placement system also has a first lumen having proximal and distal ends, wherein the distal end of the first lumen is coupled to the first opening. The suture placement system further has a second lumen having proximal and distal ends, wherein the distal end of the second lumen is coupled to the second opening. The suture placement system also has a guide coupled to the plate. A method of minimally invasive suture placement is also disclosed.
Method and apparatus for attaching tissue to bone
In one embodiment of the present disclosure, an apparatus for securing a first object to a second object, including a deformable anchor body, a working suture connected to the anchor body, the working suture including a pre-formed knot, and a repair suture connected to the first object, wherein, with the anchor body connected to the second object and at least one of the anchor body and the working suture connected to the repair suture, the anchor body is adapted to secure within the second object and the working suture and repair suture are adapted to secure to the anchor body to secure the first object to the second object.
