KNOTLESS INSTABILITY DEVICES AND METHODS FOR SOFT TISSUE REPAIR
Knotless suture anchors and methods are provided for affixing soft tissue to a bone. One exemplary embodiment of a suture anchor includes an insertion rod, a distal tip member removably coupled to a distal end of the insertion rod, the distal tip member having a suture engagement feature configured to have a plurality of suture limbs slidably coupled to the tip member, and a proximal main member having an elongated cylindrical body with one or more bone-engaging features disposed on its outer surface and a longitudinal lumen extending from a proximal end to a distal end. The suture anchor can also include two suture limb holding surfaces to maintain two suture limbs a distance apart from each other. Other exemplary embodiments, as well as methods for affixing soft tissue to a bone, are also provided.
Minimally invasive breast lift method with a superior tissue support and an inferior anchor
Described are methods and apparatus for use in supporting tissue in a patient's body. In some embodiments, the patient's breast or another tissue is supported. One method involves introducing a superior soft tissue anchor into a patient, the anchor having an inferiorly facing total surface area; and introducing at least one inferior soft tissue anchor into the patient, such that the at least one inferior soft tissue anchor is suspended from the superior soft tissue anchor, the sum of all of the at least one inferior soft tissue anchors having a superiorly facing total surface area. The inferiorly facing total surface area of the superior anchor can be greater, such as at least two times greater than the superiorly facing total surface area of the at least one inferior anchor.
DUAL EXPANSION ANCHOR
A bone anchor, including: a bone engaging member including: a first proximal bone engaging portion and a second distal bone engaging portion; and an expansion feature configured to allow radial expansion of the first bone engaging portion and the second bone engaging portion; an expander having a first proximal expansion portion and a second distal expansion portion and displaceable between a first position relative to the bone engaging member and a second position relative to the bone engaging member; a tissue capture feature; and wherein the first expansion portion of the expander is configured to expand the first bone engaging portion of the bone engaging member and the second expansion portion of the expander is configured to expand the second bone engaging portion of the bone engaging member when the expander is in the second position.
Compression screw system
A compression screw comprising a threaded shaft and a head associated with the proximal end of the shaft. The head has a plurality of outwardly extending projections spaced from one another so as to define a plurality of recesses there between for receiving a screw drive in such a way that rotational force may be transferred from the screw drive to the screw. The projections of the head may be provided with suture fixation holes or a suture coupling may be positioned over the shaft so as to extend between the projections of the head.
DEVICES, SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR TREATING BENIGN PROSTATIC HYPERPLASIA AND OTHER CONDITIONS
Devices, systems and methods for compressing, cutting, incising, reconfiguring, remodeling, attaching, repositioning, supporting, dislocating or altering the composition of tissues or anatomical structures to alter their positional or force relationship to other tissues or anatomical structures. In some applications, the invention may be used to used to improve patency or fluid flow through a body lumen or cavity (e.g., to limit constriction of the urethra by an enlarged prostate gland).
Vascular hole closure delivery device
A surgical delivery instrument for delivering a vascular hole closure device having a hole covering member. The delivery instrument comprises a housing, a plunger and an advancer movable within the housing, the advancer having a first portion and a distal portion hingedly connected to the first portion and forming a casing for supporting the hole covering member. Distal movement of the advancer pivots the casing from an angled position to a more linear position to change the orientation of the covering member from a transverse position to a more aligned position. The plunger is advanceable to advance the covering member into the vessel.
Bone anchor having improved fixation strength
Bone anchors having improved fixation are discussed. The bone anchors include an anchor body and radially protruding ribs that extend approximately parallel to a longitudinal axis of the bone anchor. A leading distal edge of each rib may be configured in a tapered “knife-edge” configuration. Such ribs may mitigate the plow-out effect, preserving contact between the ribs and the surrounding bone along the length of the anchor. Furthermore, such ribs provide increased surface area, improving fixation strength.
Devices, systems, and methods for adjustably tensioning an artificial chordae tendineae between a leaflet and a papillary muscle or heart wall
The present disclosure relates generally to the field of medical devices for delivering artificial chordae tendineae in a patient. A system for adjusting tension in an artificial chordae tendineae includes an artificial chordae tendineae coupleable between a clip and an anchor. The clip is engageable with a leaflet of a heart valve while the anchor is engageable with a papillary muscle or heart wall. The anchor includes a body portion, and a locking portion coupleable with the artificial chordae tendineae and configured to allow movement of the artificial chordae tendineae in a first direction while preventing movement of the artificial chordae tendineae in a second direction opposite the first direction. An actuator is coupled to the locking portion for selectively releasing the locking portion to enable selective movement of the artificial chordae tendineae in the second direction.
SUTURE ANCHOR
Provided is a suture anchor 10 for securing soft tissue 12 to bone 6. The suture anchor 10 comprises a strip 14 having first and second end portions 16 and 18 and a central portion 20 therebetween. Each end portion 16 and 18 defines an inner and an outer aperture 22 and 24, said central portion 20 defining a central aperture 21 and transverse lines of weakness 26 longitudinally on either side of said central aperture 21. A suture 28 is operatively threadable through the strip 14 such that the end portions 16 and 18 fold onto each other via the lines of weakness 26 to complementarily define a clasp portion 30 with the central portion 20 defining an expansion portion 32. In use, tensioning of the suture 28 urges the expansion portion 32 into an expanded position and clasps said suture 28 to the clasp portion 30.
FIXATION DEVICE FOR SECURING A LINEAR ELEMENT TO A WORKPIECE
A fixation device for securing a linear element to a workpiece includes a contact component and a fixation component. The contact component typically includes (i) a first contact surface for application to a workpiece and (ii) a first opening for receiving a linear element. The fixation component typically secures a portion of the linear element on a side of the first contact component opposite the first contact surface. The fixation component engages the contact component to prevent passage of the linear element's secured portion through the workpiece when a tension is applied to the linear element in a direction opposite the contact surface.
