Devices, systems, and methods for anchoring sutures

Various devices, systems, and methods for anchoring sutures are provided In general, a suture anchor can include a groove formed in an exterior surface thereof and configured to seat a suture at least partially therein. The suture can be configured to automatically become seated in the groove during the advancement of the anchor into bone, such as by being rotated therein using a driver tool. The suture and the groove can have cooperating sizes such that the suture seated in the groove extends radially outward therefrom to be partially located outside of the anchor. This external portion of the suture can be press fit between the anchor and the bone, thereby securing both the anchor and the suture to the bone. This securing can occur as part of driving the anchor into bone.

SUTURING BREAKAWAY ANCHOR STRIP

The present invention includes a single molded strip of suture anchors frangibly connected to each other that can be preloaded with a suture and then deployed at the site of use inside the body. This configuration eliminates the need to reload an anchor when multiple anchors are required. Further, this molded strip of anchors can include different variations of a suture anchor or locking device all in the same single strip. The strip would typically be molded from plastic or metal and would offer the additional advantage of being injection molded in a one piece shot which would not only save on cost per anchor but would offer assembly advantages as well.

Knotless closure sutures and methods of tissue fixation

Surgical suturing constructs, suture anchor assemblies, and methods of tissue fixation are disclosed. The suturing construct includes a bumpy suture. A suturing construct may include one or more small loops on a distal end. A suturing construct may include a splice terminating into a tapered portion/region at a proximal end. A bumpy suture of a suturing construct may form a knotless, closed, self-locking loop around tissue.

PROSTHETIC IMPLANT

Prosthetic implant including a solid portion shaped like a first portion of a human skeletal structure and a suture portion, connected to the solid portion, and shaped like a second portion of a human skeletal structure complementary to the first portion. The suture portion includes a suture body, having a multitude of interconnected internal cavities within which a suture instrument is directed, or can be directed, through an external surface of the suture body. The suture body further includes a multitude of holes uniformly distributed on the external surface of the suture body and opening into the internal cavities. The external surface of the suture body defines a suture surface of the prosthetic implant configured to enable biological tissue to be sewn to the prosthetic implant.

Clip for broad suture

A clip includes a first side portion and a second side portion fastenable together and configured to attach to a broad suture. The first side portion has a first aperture sized to permit passage of the broad suture therethrough. The second side portion has a second aperture sized to permit passage of the broad suture therethrough, and at least one prong in the second aperture configured to penetrate the broad suture. A stopper surface is provided on the first side portion, wherein the prong contacts the stopper surface when the first side portion and the second side portion are fastened together so as to maintain the prong in the broad suture to thereby attach the clip to the broad suture.

VASCULAR HOLE CLOSURE DEVICE

A device for closing an aperture in a vessel wall comprising a covering member having a longitudinal axis and positionable inside the vessel against the internal opening of the aperture and having a dimension to prevent egress of fluid through the aperture and having a first opening. A first retainer is positionable external of the vessel. A flexible connecting member operatively connects the covering member and the first retainer, wherein the first opening of the covering member is configured to restrict movement of the connecting member.

Objects identified by a data quality monitor can be presented to users for confirmation and resolution. Properties used by the data quality monitor to match objects may also be displayed to users.

SURGICAL FILAMENT SNARE ASSEMBLIES

A surgical filament snare assembly including an anchor capable of being fixated in bone and having a filament engagement feature. A first filament has a noose on a first portion of at least a first limb and has a second portion connected to the filament engagement feature of the anchor. Preferably, at least one free filament limb, which in some embodiments is a length of the first filament and in other embodiments is a second filament, is capable of being passed through tissue to be repaired and has at least one end passable through the noose to enable incremental tensioning of the tissue after the anchor is fixated in bone. The noose strangulates the free filament limb when tension is applied to at least one of the free filament limb and the noose.
