Apparatus and method for vehicle safety for hands free SMS capability in a moving vehicle
A vehicle safety function is installed and operative in the vehicle electronics. The vehicle function is implemented via a texting-safety logic inside the vehicle electronics. The texting-safety logic when the vehicle exceeds a threshold speed outputs an RF signal with a texting-safety code. The texting-safety code is picked up by a smart phone in the vehicle to alert the driver about the danger of texting and/or disable the texting feature in the phone while the vehicle is being driven.
Method and apparatus for interacting with a personal computing device such as a smart phone using portable and self-contained hardware that is adapted for use in a motor vehicle
Disclosed is a method and apparatus for interacting with a personal computing device such as a smart phone using portable, self-contained hardware that is adapted for use in a motor vehicle. The apparatus includes a user interface designed to receive user input, including tactile user input, from the occupant of the motor vehicle, an electronic interface, electrically coupled to the user interface, removably connectable to the personal computing device, and configured to relay information about the user input to a software application running on the personal computing device, and one or more mounting structures, at least one of which is configured for containing the user interface, at least one of which is configured for containing the electronic interface, and all of which are removably attachable to a portion of the motor vehicle.
Smart way of controlling car audio system
A method, an apparatus, and a computer program product for device control are provided. The apparatus determines that a user equipment (UE) connected to the apparatus receives a call. The apparatus determines a location of the UE. The apparatus adjusts a volume of at least one of a plurality of speakers based on the location of the UE and locations of the plurality of speakers while the UE receives the call.
Efficient headunit communication integration
In an example, the mobile device may be configured to determine whether to authorize a request for the vehicle head unit to utilize a resource of the mobile device. The mobile device may be configured to utilize a proxy of the mobile device to establish a connection with a destination in response to determining to authorize the request.
In-Vehicle Infotainment Control Systems and Methods
Example in-vehicle infotainment control systems and methods are described. In one implementation, a method receives a request from a mobile device to control an in-vehicle infotainment (IVI) system of a vehicle. The method determines whether a speed of the vehicle exceeds a threshold and whether the mobile device is operated by a passenger of the vehicle. If the vehicle's speed exceeds the threshold and the mobile device is operated by a passenger, the mobile device is allowed to control the IVI system.
SYSTEM FOR DETERMINING ACTION BASED ON CONTEXT, VEHICLE FOR PERFORMING ACTION DETERMINED BASED ON CONTEXT, AND METHOD OF DETERMINING ACTION BASED ON CONTEXT
A context-based action determination system includes: a first terminal device; a server device communicably connected with the first terminal device and configured to receive a service provision request from the first terminal device; and a second terminal device, different from the first terminal device, communicably connected with the server device and configured to transmit context information to the server device. The server device determines whether a service associated with the service provision request is providable to the first terminal device in response to the service provision request based on the context information received from the second terminal device, and the server device provides the service to the first terminal device when the server device determines that the service is providable.
Echo canceller device and echo cancel method
An echo canceller device includes a band adjuster including a filter for performing band adjustment by applying a gain to a signal in a specific frequency band of an input signal, an adaptive filter for inputting a speech reception signal, updating a filter coefficient, and generating a pseudo echo signal using the updated filter coefficient, a band corrector including a filter for correcting a frequency characteristic of a signal obtained by subtracting the pseudo echo signal from an input signal, to a frequency characteristic of the input signal prior to the band adjustment, and a residual echo suppressor for suppressing an echo component that remains in a signal, by a suppression amount, and the residual echo suppressor sets the suppression amount for a signal in a specific frequency band that has been subjected to the band adjustment.
Vehicle-based multi-modal interface
Various embodiments enable mobile devices, such as phones and the like, to integrate with an in-vehicle information/entertainment system to enable the user to control the in-vehicle information/entertainment system by way of their mobile phone. Users can leverage the functionality of their mobile phone to promote an in-vehicle experience which can be contextually tailored to the user's or the vehicle's context. Yet other embodiments can purvey an in-vehicle experience through a cloud based service.
Method and system for communication
Provided is a computer implemented method and system for delivering text messages, emails, and messages from a messenger application to a user while the user is engaged in an activity, such as driving, exercising, or working. Typically, the emails and other messages are announced to the user and read aloud without any user input. In Drive Mode, while the user is driving, a clean interface is shown to the user, and the user can hear announcements and messages/emails aloud without looking at the screen of the phone, and use gestures to operate the phone. After a determination is made that a new text message and/or email has arrived, the user is informed aloud of the text message/email/messenger message and in most instances, and if the user takes no further action, the body and/or subject of the text message/email/messenger message is read aloud to the user. All messages can be placed in a single queue, and read to the user in order of receipt.
Method and Apparatus for Reminding Forgotten Mobile Terminal
The present disclosure provides a method and an apparatus for reminding a forgotten mobile terminal, wherein information of a mobile terminal currently connected to a predetermined device is detected, detected information of the mobile terminal connected to the predetermined device is compared with preset information so as to judge whether both of them are the same with each other, in a case where both of them are different from each other, it indicates that there is a mobile terminal that should be taken way, and in this case, a user is notified and reminded to take away the mobile terminal in time, avoiding unnecessary troubles for people's life and work due to forgetting the mobile terminal.
