A “smart case” for a portable electronic device (e.g., smartphone, tablet, and the like) is provided that incorporates into the case an extendable camera that interacts with the electronic device to deliver still and/or moving images. The smart case is adapted to be mounted with respect to the portable electronic device and to facilitate communication between the camera and the processing unit associated with the electronic device. In an alternative embodiment, a subassembly is provided that is adapted to be mounted with respect to an electronic device and/or a case for an electronic device, the subassembly including an extendable camera to deliver still and/or moving images.

An accessory device for use in conjunction with an electronic device (e.g., a smartphone, tablet or the like) is provided that incorporates an extendable camera that interacts with the electronic device to deliver still and/or moving images. The accessory device is adapted to be mounted with respect to the portable electronic device and to facilitate communication between the camera and the processing unit associated with the electronic device. The accessory device includes a rotatable dial that allows rotation of the extendable camera from a non-deployed axial orientation to a deployed axial orientation.

A method of controlling a content playing device and an electronic device performing the method are provided. The method of controlling a content playing device includes playing content on a second electronic device connected to an electronic device, identifying, by the electronic device, a third electronic device and connecting the electronic device to the third electronic device, determining whether a specialized function related to playing the content is present among functions of the second electronic device, and playing the content, played on the second electronic device, on the third electronic device.

A lighting assembly includes a photographic lamp. The photographic lamp includes a lamp body, a first supporting arm and a second supporting arm. The first supporting arm is rotatably connected to a sidewall of the lamp body and capable of rotating around a rotation axis perpendicular to the sidewall of the lamp body. The second supporting arm is rotatably connected to the first supporting arm and capable of rotating around a rotation axis extending along a width direction of the first supporting arm. A connector including a first connector side having a first rotatable connector mechanism and a second connector side having a second rotatable connector mechanism, the first rotatable connector mechanism and the second rotatable connector mechanism being configured to engage one another when the first connector side and the second connector side abut one another at a first angular orientation, the first rotatable connector mechanism and the second rotatable connector mechanism being configured to disengage from one another when the first connector side and the second connector side are rotated away from the first angular orientation in at least a first direction.

A speaker system is removably attached to a cellular telephone or telephone case to augment or supplant audio output of the phone. In one example, the system includes a protective telephone case with built in speakers. The attachment mechanism may alternatively or additionally be used as a universal attachment for cellular telephone accessories. The system may include a fastening mechanism configured to attach any accessory to a phone surface.

The present application is directed to a case and analog port adaptor for use with a phone. The case includes a body configured to be engaged around the perimeter of a phone. The case includes an electronic package that has an analog port for receipt of a TRS plug of an electronic accessory such as headphones. The electronics package also includes an electronic plug and an electronic pathway. The electronic plug interfaces with an electronic port of the phone. The electronic pathway provides the mechanism for power and data communication between the phone and the analog port via the interface of the case's electronic plug to the electronic port of the phone.

A method for execution control using a cover and an electronic device supporting the same are provided. The method includes acquiring a sensing value of a cover sensor included in the cover and a sensing value of a main body sensor included in a main body of the electronic device, due to a physical change generated in the electronic device, comparing the sensing value of the main body sensor with the sensing value of the cover sensor, and controlling execution in the main body according to the sensing value of the cover sensor, when a result of the comparison meets a preset criterion.
