An audiovisual safety system is provided comprising a personal electronic device having one or more processors and a memory storing instructions. When the instructions are executed by the one or more processors, the personal electronic device may initiate audio communication between the personal electronic device and one or more emergency services. The audio communication may be initiated via a first screen interaction with an emergency contact icon at a first location on a display screen of the personal electronic device. The personal electronic device may capture audio content data and video content data associated with an emergency event, may store the audio content data and the video content data, and may maintain the audio communication between the personal electronic device and the one or more emergency services while continuing to capture the audio content data and the video content data associated with the emergency event.
Method and system for an emergency location information service (E-LIS) for proxy network devices
An emergency location information service (E-LIS) for network devices connected to proxy network devices. The proxy network devices are both analog and digital network devices. The proxy network devices send unique identification information for the network device connected to it and request either a location-by-reference (indirect location information) component or location-by-reference (direct location information) component to identify the network device for when an emergency event occurs.

Methods, systems, and computer-readable storage media for providing a physical harm deterrent system. Upon receiving an initiation of a physical harm deterrent application by a user of a handheld video streaming device, a video camera of the handheld video streaming device is activated by the physical harm deterrent application. In conjunction with the activation of the video camera, a lighted alert feature of the handheld video streaming device is also activated, the lighted alert feature configured to indicate to persons approaching the user of the handheld video streaming device the physical harm deterrent application is active. The physical harm deterrent application streams live video from the video camera to a remote storage location.
