A system for facilitating a response to an event notifying signal is disclosed herein. The system comprises: a network monitoring module configured for monitoring signals received over a data network for a presence of one or more event notifying signals indicative of a relevant incident within a geographic area; and an assessment module configured for determining if the relevant incident could impact any persons or property of an enterprise or organization within the geographic area and identifying a first group of people of the enterprise or organization who could be impacted by the relevant incident. The system further comprising the resource response module configured for communicating a response to a computing device associated with each person of the first group of people, where the response provides indication of the relevant incident.

An emergency identification system includes a plurality of identification holders which hold vests which are made to be deployed during an emergency in order to identify designated authority figures who may lead or provide instructions during the emergency. A method of covert communication between a mobile device and emergency dispatch according to one embodiment includes receiving, by the mobile device, a user's selection of a covert communication option on a user interface of the mobile device, establishing, by the mobile device, a communication connection with an emergency dispatch system in response to receiving the user's selection of the covert communication option, and launching, by the mobile device, a text-based conversation with the emergency dispatch system in response to establishing the communication connection and without revealing an existence of the communication connection to other persons in a vicinity of the mobile device.

A method of covert communication between a mobile device and emergency dispatch according to one embodiment includes receiving, by the mobile device, a user's selection of a covert communication option on a user interface of the mobile device, establishing, by the mobile device, a communication connection with an emergency dispatch system in response to receiving the user's selection of the covert communication option, and launching, by the mobile device, a text-based conversation with the emergency dispatch system in response to establishing the communication connection and without revealing an existence of the communication connection to other persons in a vicinity of the mobile device.

Improved techniques for facilitating emergency access to one or more contacts stored on a portable electronic device are disclosed. One or more contacts on the portable electronic device are designated as emergency contacts. While the portable electronic device is password-locked, a request to display the one or more emergency contacts on the password-locked portable electronic device is received. Without requiring a password, the one or more emergency contacts are displayed on the portable electronic device.

Improved techniques for facilitating emergency access to one or more contacts stored on a portable electronic device are disclosed. One or more contacts on the portable electronic device are designated as emergency contacts. While the portable electronic device is password-locked, a request to display the one or more emergency contacts on the password-locked portable electronic device is received. Without requiring a password, the one or more emergency contacts are displayed on the portable electronic device.
