Systems and methods for context-aware mobile application session protection
11647392 · 2023-05-09 · ·

A method for securing a mobile device includes determining whether the mobile device is unlocked whether a user is logged into a mobile application running on the mobile device. The method further includes determining, when the mobile device is unlocked while the user is logged into the mobile application, whether the mobile device is currently in a threat scenario by analyzing data from one or more sensors. The threat scenario indicates that the mobile device is exposed to unintended and malicious interactions. The method further includes displaying, when it is determined that the mobile device is currently in the threat scenario, a step-up authentication screen that replaces or at least partially covers an application screen of the mobile application. The method further includes restoring the application screen of the mobile application in response to receiving a valid authentication input from the user on the step-up authentication screen.

ELECTRONIC APPARATUS AND METHOD OF SELECTIVELY APPLYING SECURITY MODE IN MOBILE DEVICE

A touch-panel cellular phone specifies an invalid area not accepting a user's input operation on a touch panel in advance. The cellular phone detects a user's touch area on the touch panel so as to execute a function pre-assigned to the touch area not encompassed by the invalid area. Additionally, it is possible to reduce and display menu icons in the display area precluding the invalid area on the touch panel. Thus, it is possible to prevent an error operation when a user holding a cellular phone inadvertently touches the touch panel.

Mobile terminal device, information management device, and information management system

According to the present invention, a mobile terminal device includes: an operation input section which accepts operations; a memory section which previously stores a list of states of the mobile terminal device during use as locking conditions to determine a state at the time of limiting an operation of the mobile terminal device; a state determining section which generates state information in accordance with a state of the mobile terminal device; and a function limiting section which determines whether the state information meets the locking conditions, and switches the mobile terminal device to a locked state to limit an operation of the operation input section, when the state information is determined to meet the locking conditions.

Systems and methods for allowing administrative access

Systems and methods for providing services to administrative personnel and other persons using electronic devices in an institution. One method involves receiving an identifier entered as input on an electronic device and receiving a security code entered as input on the portable electronic device or transmitted to the electronic device, wherein the security code was generated by a security token and security codes generated by the security token change over time. The method further involves authenticating the person based on the identifier and the security code and allowing access to one or more administrative services based on the authenticating.

Terminal Anti-Lost Method and Terminal
20170346939 · 2017-11-30 ·

Embodiments of the present disclosure disclose a terminal anti-lost method and a terminal, to resolve a problem that a lost terminal is difficult to find when a user discovers in a timely manner that the terminal is lost. The method in the embodiments of the present disclosure includes: first detecting, by the terminal when receiving a specific instruction, whether the terminal is currently in a lock screen state, where the specific instruction represents an instruction of controlling the terminal to decrease volume and/or an instruction of preventing the terminal from receiving a carrier signal; and skipping executing, by the terminal, the instruction when it is determined that the terminal is in the lock screen state, and controlling the terminal to increase the volume and/or play an alarm tone by using a loudspeaker.

Controlling Vibration Output from a Computing Device
20220368431 · 2022-11-17 ·

Systems, apparatuses, and methods are described for controlling vibrations output by one or more computing devices. A plurality of computing devices may form an ad hoc group using vibration signals. A computing device may suspend generation of a tactile vibration and/or sound as a notification of a received communication or other event.

Tamper resistant system for creating zones and manipulating computing devices
20170339270 · 2017-11-23 ·

A system for selectively manipulating a mobile device when the mobile device is present within one or more defined zones within an area. The system comprises a control device transmitting a signal, with the signal having a decreasing signal strength as distance from the control device increases. The system additional comprises one or more profiles stored in a memory for determining the one or more defined zones based on one or more values, each value corresponding to a particular signal strength of the signal, and at least one software application executing on the mobile device. The application is configured for accessing the profiles from a memory and receiving, from the mobile device, an indication of the signal received at the mobile device and a signal strength of the received signal, and selectively manipulating the mobile device as a function of the signal strength and the one or more profiles.

Silent Invocation of Emergency Broadcasting Mobile Device
20170318146 · 2017-11-02 ·

Systems and methods are disclosed for discreetly broadcasting emergency communications to emergency contacts from a mobile computing device. To accomplish the foregoing, a shutdown command is received on a mobile computing device to initiate a shutdown process. In accordance with the shutdown process, the mobile computing device monitors for a preconfigured passcode, picture, or combination of inputs to authorize the actual shutdown of the mobile computing device. Based on determining that the received passcode, picture, or combination of inputs is different than their preconfigured counterparts, a pseudo-shutdown mode is enabled, emulating an actual shutdown of the mobile computing device. The emergency broadcast mode of the mobile computing device is also started when the pseudo-shutdown mode enabled, to discreetly alert emergency contacts with emergency mode data generated by the mobile computing device.

Mobile terminal and control method thereof

A mobile terminal including a terminal body; a touch screen disposed on a front surface of the terminal body, and configured to sense a touch applied to the touch screen; and a controller configured to activate the touch screen in which illumination is turned on, display screen information on the activated touch screen, deactivate the touch screen upon no touch being performed on the touch screen for a predetermined time period associated with an automatic lock function, and in response to a predetermined touch input being sensed by the touch screen within a reference time period before or after the touch screen is deactivated, disable the automatic lock function or reconfigure the predetermined time period.
