A system to inhibiting mobile device function has a mobile device having one or more sensors in communication with at least one processor, wherein at least one of the sensors is an accelerometer, wherein the one or more sensors receive data, and wherein the one or more sensors instruct the at least one processor to inhibit one or more mobile device functions based on the received data. Further, a vehicle is disclosed, wherein the one or more sensors identify a location of the mobile device relative to the vehicle.

Method and apparatus for controlling communications terminal and corresponding communications terminal

Embodiments of the present invention disclose a method and an apparatus for controlling a communications terminal and a corresponding communications terminal, including: setting, in a communications terminal, authentication information of a subscriber identity module (SIM) change; monitoring a SIM change broadcast sent by the communications terminal, and setting, after the SIM change broadcast is monitored, the communications terminal to a locked state; and monitoring input information on the communications terminal, performing authentication and comparison, after the input information is monitored, on the input information and the set authentication information of a SIM change, and releasing, after the authentication succeeds, the locked state of the communications terminal. The embodiments of the present invention can improve security of information in a communications terminal.

Control method, information processing device, and storage medium

A mobile electronic device includes an acceleration sensor configured to detect an acceleration value, a controller configured to determine, based on the acceleration value, movement state of user of the mobile electronic device, a first input unit configured to receive input of information enabling unlocking of a security lock state in which a security lock is effective, and a second input unit configured to receive input of biological information enabling unlocking of the security lock state.

System and method for limiting mobile device functionality

The present invention relates to systems and methods that employ various mechanisms to selectively disable mobile device functionality. In general, mobile devices can be utilized to store personal and/or highly sensitive information such as bank account numbers, social security numbers, credit card numbers and the like. If the mobile device is lost or stolen, data stored within the device can be accessed by an unauthorized user; and, thus, any personal and/or highly sensitive information can be obtained. In order to mitigate unauthorized access, the subject invention provides a disabling component that communicates with the lost or stolen device to render data stored thereon inaccessible. Further, the data can be stored in local or remote locations to backup stored information, thereby creating a more robust and reliable method of storing information important to the device owner. These features provide enhancements over conventional mobile device security techniques.

DEVICE LOCK WHILE IN MOTION
20170289343 · 2017-10-05 · ·

In an example, a mobile device is configured to automatically lock when a detector, such as a GPS receiver, determines that the device is in motion above a certain speed threshold, such as 10 mph. Additional detectors may be used to determine whether the device is operated by the user or by a passenger, so that intelligent decisions can be made about whether to lock the device. During the lock, certain selected apps such as a GPS navigation system or music player may be enabled, with limited controls as appropriate. In some cases, hands-free operations may be available. The mobile device may also be configured to provide an automated response to incoming calls and messages.

Spoof detection by estimating subject motion from captured image frames

A method includes receiving a first image and a second image, wherein the first and second images represent first and second relative locations, respectively, of an image acquisition device with respect to a subject. The method also includes determining, using the first and second images, a total relative displacement of the subject with respect to the image acquisition device between a time of capture of the first image and a time of capture of the second image, and determining, based on sensor data associated with one or more sensors associated with the image acquisition device, a component of the total relative displacement associated with a motion of the image acquisition device. The method also includes determining, based on a difference between the first total relative displacement and the component, that the first subject is an alternative representation of a live person, and in response, preventing access to a secure system.

Embodiments of the present disclosure provide an unread message prompt method and a mobile terminal. The method includes: if an unread message is received when the mobile terminal is in a screen-off state, identifying an application pushing the unread message; and highlighting an icon of the application on a screen of the mobile terminal, where a position where the icon is not displayed on the screen is in a screen-off state.

ANTI-DISTRACTED DRIVER SYSTEM
20170237849 · 2017-08-17 ·

An anti-distracted driver system comprises an interrupt device and a client device detector. The system may be installed in a vehicle. The client device detector may be installed in, for example, the glove box and may detect whether a client device (e.g., smart phone) is present (also in the glove box). If a client device is detected, an identifier (ID) is extracted from the client device and compared to a set of valid client device IDs provided by an administrator. If no match is found or no client device is detected, a relay is, or remains, disengaged thereby electrically disconnecting the starter control (e.g., ignition switch) from a solenoid of the starter motor thereby preventing the vehicle's engine from being started. Thus, the engine cannot be started unless the vehicle operator places his or her phone in the glove box of the vehicle (or wherever the client device detector is otherwise located).

Mobile device safe driving

In embodiments of mobile device safe driving, a mobile device can display a device lock screen on an integrated display device, and transition from the device lock screen to display a driving mode lock screen. The transition to display the driving mode lock screen occurs without receiving a PIN code entered on the device lock screen. The mobile device implements a safe driving service that is implemented to activate a safe driving mode of the mobile device, and disable features of the mobile device while the safe driving mode is activated.
