Guard timer to optimize E911 call handling

Systems and methods for optimized call handling during e911 calls. Normally, when a user equipment (UE) is connected to a public safety answering point (PSAP)e.g., is on a 911 callall incoming calls are automatically routed to voicemail. In contrast, the systems and methods disclosed herein enable calls that were dialed within a predetermined time window of the 911 call to be sent through to call-waiting to enable the user to accept or reject the call. The system can use a guard timer to determine whether a call is within the predetermined time window. The system can include a single guard timer for all incoming callse.g., any call made from the UE within the previous X minutes prior to the 911 call. The system can also include individual guard timers for each call that expire separately relative to the call's proximity to the 911 call.

PHONE SYSTEMS AND METHODS OF COMMUNICATION

Phone systems, phone devices (including hardware, software and firmware), and methods of operating a phone. Described herein are dissociated phone systems including one or a plurality of local client phones with basic call handling capability that communicate though a remote phone server but are locally controlled by a controller gateway that manages the local network including the local client phones.

Method and device for adjusting frequencies of intercom apparatuses

A method and a device for adjusting frequencies of intercom apparatuses are provided. The method includes: detecting, at a current operating frequency of a first intercom apparatus, an unknown speech signal sent from an intercom apparatus other than the first intercom apparatus, the first intercom apparatus communicating with at least one second intercom apparatus associated with at least one second terminal; determining a target operating frequency; and sending a first adjusting instruction instructing the first intercom apparatus to adjust the current operating frequency to the target operating frequency; and sending a frequency changing message to the at least one second terminal for controlling the at least one second intercom apparatus to adjust the current operating frequency to the target operating frequency.

Digital intercom system having a communication device and linked audio output device

A digital intercom system has a master station with hardware and software configured to allow duplex communication between a plurality of communication devices. The software is configured to run a plurality of settings for directing communication between the communication devices, the settings including a plurality of channels for each communication device. The channels each define parameters for how the communication devices within the system will communicate. An audio output device is linked to a corresponding communication device of the plurality of communication devices such that the audio output device is configured to receive and play the same audio as the corresponding communication device. The master station is configured to modify the settings based on input entered into a browser based program run on an input/output (I/O) device by a user.

A configurable apparatus includes a housing, a cradle, and a handset. In a first configuration, a first bracket is releasably attached to the cradle and to the housing such that the cradle is disposed next to a first side of the housing. In a second configuration, a second bracket is releasably attached to the cradle and to the housing such that the cradle is disposed next to a second side of the housing. The first and second brackets can include L-shaped brackets, which can be mirror images of each other. The communication system may be used in multi-story buildings or similar structures to facilitate communications among multiple stations (e.g., emergency response stations) within the structures.

Auxiliary Radio Communication System

An auxiliary radio communications system includes a dispatch radio console (DRC), a plurality of antennas, and a radio amplification unit (RAU). The RAU includes first and second repeaters that are in communication with an RAU interconnect board. The first and second RF repeaters receive first and second communication signals from the RAU interconnect board, respectively, and retransmit them to the antennas and to the DRC. The antennas rebroadcast the first and second communication signals over first and second communication channels, respectively. The DRC can include first and second dispatch control modules (DCMs) that receive the first and second communication signals, respectively. The first and second communication signals can originate from the first and second DCMs, respectively, from a first handheld radio tuned to the first communication channel, and/or from a second handheld radio tuned to the second communication channel.

METHOD OF CONTROLLING COMMUNICATIONS WITHIN A DIGITAL INTERCOM SYSTEM

A method of managing communications between communication devices within a digital intercom system includes providing input and output tables for each communication device. The tables for each device are made up of cells formed from linear arrays corresponding to communication channels and the other devices. When two devices communicate on a given channel, a cell in the appropriate input and output table is identified based on the channel and the devices communicating. The cells provide volume control information which can be relied upon to determine if or to what degree audio signals should be transferred between the devices.
