Video Voicemail Application
A system and method for storing, recording, and perusing video messages as a messaging service. The opt-in method manages the processes of creating and replaying the video through an application interface available to registered users. Callers are able to witness greetings left by boxholders and, in turn, record their own messages or follow up through other communication channels. Boxholders are able to leave one or more greetings, potentially designating greetings to specific callers, as well as managing the messages left by their callers. Video files can also be uploaded as greetings or messages through an alternative interface.
Virtual assistant architecture for natural language understanding in a customer service system
A virtual assistant system for communicating with customers uses human intelligence to correct any errors in the system AI, while collecting data for machine learning and future improvements for more automation. The system may use a modular design, with separate components for carrying out different system functions and sub-functions, and with frameworks for selecting the component best able to respond to a given customer conversation.
PRESENTATION OF COMMUNICATIONS
A method to present communications is provided. The method may include obtaining, at a device, a request from a user to play back a stored message that includes audio. In response to obtaining the request, the method may include directing the audio of the message to a transcription system from the device. In these and other embodiments, the transcription system may be configured to generate text that is a transcription of the audio in real-time. The method may further include obtaining, at the device, the text from the transcription system and presenting, by the device, the text generated by the transcription system in real-time. In response to obtaining the text from the transcription system, the method may also include presenting, by the device, the audio such that the text as presented is substantially aligned with the audio.
Built-In Mobile Device Voice Messaging System
Systems, methods, and computer hardware, software, and/or media provide voice messaging systems operating on mobile electronic devices. The voice messaging systems provide voice messaging capability without relying on initiation of a telephone call by the mobile electronic device, and further provide video playback greetings to the user of the electronic mobile device that are controlled by the user recording and sending the voice message rather than by the recipient. Implementations of the invention further provide video playback greetings that are controlled by the recipient of a telephone call but that are delivered to the calling mobile electronic device while the telephone call continues

VIDEO MESSAGING
Systems and techniques for transferring electronic data between users of a communications system by receiving, at an instant messaging host, a video file from a sender and intended for a recipient; authenticating the video file; and sending the video file to the intended recipient.
Methods and apparatus for providing voice mail services
Methods and apparatus for retrieving and providing voice mail messages from a server are described. In accordance with the invention voice mail messages may be retrieved via requests made via a set top box. Voice mail messages are retrieved in response to the request from a voice mail server which is also accessible via the telephone network. Retrieved voice mail is transcoded and included in a video on demand (VOD) file. Text, call ID information and/or other information as, e.g., an automatically generated transcript of the voice mail message, may be included in the VOD file. The VOD file is supplied to a VOD server which provides the file including the message to the set top box for display. A user can view the messages and switch from viewing one message to the next by using video play back commands.
Video conferencing over IP networks
A method for communication includes establishing multiple communication links over a packet network between a server and plurality of client computers that are to participate in a video teleconference. The client computers may also create secondary communication links that function similarly to links between the server and client computers. The server receives from the client computers uplink audio packets and uplink video packets, which respectively contain audio and video data captured by each of the client computers. The server mixes the audio data from the uplink audio packets so as to create respective streams of mixed audio data for transmission to the client computers and transmits to the client computers downlink audio packets containing the respective streams of mixed audio data. The server relays the video data to the client computers in downlink video packets. The client computers receive and synchronize the video data with the mixed audio data.
Method and Apparatus for Processing Caller Ring Back Tone, Storage Medium, and Electronic Device
Provided in the embodiments of the present disclosure are a method and apparatus for processing a Caller Ring Back Tone (CRBT), a storage medium and an electronic device. The method includes: receiving, via a core network, a call request initiated by a calling user towards a called user; sending, according to the call request, to the calling user a video CRBT preset by the called user, and notifying the calling user to play back the video CRBT; and sending the call request to the called user after a playback duration of the video CRBT reaches a preset configuration duration.
Delivery of video mail to controlled-environment facility residents via podcasts
Delivery of video to controlled-environment facility residents via podcasts may include accepting a digital video file or series of digital image files, such as from a non-resident, indicated as directed to a resident of the controlled-environment facility. Such video or image files may be uploaded, such as by the non-resident, via a provided user interface. The video file or series of digital image files are converted into a podcast. The podcast is cached in controlled-environment facility content server storage and the resident is notified of availability of the podcast. The podcast may be streamed and/or downloaded, within the controlled-environment facility, to one of the controlled-environment facility resident media devices.
