METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR MANAGING VOICEMAIL IN A COMMUNICATION SESSION
A system, method and apparatus for managing voicemail in a communication session between a sending communication device and a receiving communication device are provided. It is determined at the receiving communication device that a voicemail is to be created. The voicemail based on content received via the sending communication device. The voicemail is recorded. The voicemail is caused to be stored at resources associated with the sending communication device.
Method and system for delivering messages
A method and apparatus for delivering a message. A plurality of audio messages destined for a recipient is received from a corresponding plurality of senders. Each of the plurality of audio messages includes a corresponding first sender designated priority designated by the corresponding sender. Member configuration data that identifies a first recipient prioritization attribute is accessed. A prioritized list of the plurality of audio messages is generated based on both the corresponding first sender designated priority and the first recipient prioritization attribute associated with the each of the plurality of audio messages. A subset of the plurality of audio messages is provided to a client device associated with the recipient based on the prioritized list.
Semiautomated relay method and apparatus
A call captioning system for captioning a hearing user's (HU's) voice signal during an ongoing call with an assisted user (AU) includes: an AU communication device with a display screen and a caption service activation feature, and a first processor programmed to, during an ongoing call, receive the HU's voice signal. Prior to activating the caption service via the activation feature, the processor uses an automated speech recognition (ASR) engine to generate HU voice signal captions, detect errors in the HU voice signal captions, use the errors to train the ASR software to the HU's voice signal to increase accuracy of the HU captions generated by the ASR engine; and store the trained ASR engine for subsequent use. Upon activating the caption service during the ongoing call, the processor uses the trained ASR engine to generate HU voice signal captions and present them to the AU via the display screen.
Recording a message using a software platform service
A video voicemail recording system enables a caller to leave a conventional audio voicemail message over the telephony connection used for routing a call or to leave a message of a different communication modality using a client application at the calling device. A call is routed to a client device from a calling device. In-call options for selection at the calling device are presented responsive to the call going unanswered, in which a first in-call option allows an operator of the calling device to record an audio-only voicemail message over the telephony service and a second in-call option allows the operator of the calling device to record or input a message of a second communication modality (e.g., a video message). A request to open the client application at the calling device is transmitted responsive to a selection of the second in-call option. The message is received in response thereto.
Sound Localization for an Electronic Call
A smartphone provides a voice of a person during a telephone call to a user of the smartphone in binaural sound. The smartphone stores HRTFs of the user, and a digital signal processor (DSP) processes the voice of the person with the HRTFs so the voice of the person externally localizes in the binaural sound at a sound localization point (SLP) that is in empty space at least one meter away from a head of the user. The smartphone displays an AR image at the SLP during the telephone call.
Sound Localization for an Electronic Call
A smartphone provides a voice of a person during a telephone call to a user of the smartphone in binaural sound. The smartphone stores HRTFs of the user, and a digital signal processor (DSP) processes the voice of the person with the HRTFs so the voice of the person externally localizes in the binaural sound at a sound localization point (SLP) that is in empty space one meter away from a head of the user.
Sound Localization for an Electronic Call
During an electronic call between two individuals, a sound localization point simulates a location in empty space from where an origin of a voice of one individual occurs for the other individual.
Using a voicemail system
A method and system for using a voicemail system. A command is received, from a first telephone device connected to the voicemail system after a call from a second telephone device was received by the first telephone device. The command is for the voicemail system to pause a process of recording a voicemail message being spoken by a user using the first telephone device. In response to the receiving the command, the voicemail system is directed to pause the process of recording the voicemail message, which results in the process of recording the voicemail message being paused by a pause/resume invocation system that is remote to the voicemail system.
Headphones that determine head size and ear shape for customized HRTFs for a listener
Methods and apparatus include headphones that determine a size of a head of a listener and a shape of an ear of the listener. The size of the head and the shape of the ear determine head-related transfer functions (HRTFs) that are customized to the listener. The headphones include head tracking, and sound is adjusted so that a location of a source of the sound continues to originate from a fixed sound localization point (SLP) in empty space that is at least one meter away from the head of the listener while the head orientations of the listener change with respect to the fixed location.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR DERIVING CONTACT NAMES
Systems and methods for deriving contact information for a calling party analyze all or a portion of the audio of the telephone call to derive such contact. Likewise, all or a portion of a voice message left by a calling party could be analyzed to obtain contact information for the calling party.
