An information processing apparatus that allows unique setting of an image processing apparatus even when print is instructed from a cooperation application. The information processing apparatus is connected to the image processing apparatus, a tenant server that holds machine information including first setting information about the image processing apparatus, and a user terminal. The information processing apparatus includes a message application, a cooperation application that controls the image processing apparatus to print in cooperation with the message application by using the machine information, a memory device that stores instructions, and a processor that executes the instructions to obtain the first setting information from the image processing apparatus, store the first setting information to the tenant server, obtain second setting information that is not included in the machine information from the image processing apparatus, and store the second setting information to a storage unit in association with the machine information.

If the printing protocol associated with a received print job is not an internet printing protocol, the number of times of printing is counted for each type of printing protocol. If the printing protocol associated with a received print job is an internet printing protocol, the number of times of printing is counted while distinguishing a transmission source application by identifying a transmission source application.

An image forming device includes: a scanner section; a print section; an operation panel; a communication section configured to communicate with a cloud server; and a controller, wherein the controller transmits document data scanned by using the scanner section to the cloud server and causes the cloud server to store the document data in storage in accordance with an operation performed on the operation panel, and when the document data is specified in accordance with data identifying the document data kept in the storage of the cloud server in accordance with an operation performed on the operation panel, the controller displays a two-dimensional code enabling access to the document data stored in the storage of the cloud server.

User convenience related to viewing reception data is improved. A fax system having a device with a fax reception capability, and a server that controls the device, connected through a network, wherein: the device registers itself on the server as a device that can receive faxes, and sends received fax data to the server; and the server receives specification of a registered device from a terminal connected to the network, and provides to the terminal the reception data received from the specified device.

The present invention provides systems and methods for the virtualization, aggregation, and distributed processing of facsimile communications. The Remote FAX Interconnect known as etherFAX® is a system and method that allows for the reception and delivery of information based on cloud computing infrastructure to or from one or more facsimile systems using Internet/web based communication protocols such as HTTP(S) as the transport between a facsimile capable application or hardware and the remotely accessible etherFAX® services.

Methods and system are described for special processing of fax transmissions. In one embodiment, an electronic device receives a first searchable electronic document and a fax telephone number. The device determines that the document is to be transmitted as an electronic message based on the number. The device generates a second searchable electronic document from the first document. The device adds an electronic signature to the second document that includes at least one of a timestamp of when the first document was received, a number of pages of the second document, and source device information. The device transmits the electronic message that includes the second document to a destination address according to the number. Other embodiments are also described and claimed.

An information processing apparatus executes, for image data to be printed by a printing device, image processing corresponding to a content of the image data; transmits, to the printing device, image data obtained after executing the image processing; acquires, before executing the image processing, a first transfer rate with respect to the printing device and a requested transfer rate required by a print operation of a print unit of the printing device; attempts image processing for the image data; and acquires, based on the first transfer rate and information of image data obtained after the attempt, a second transfer rate required by transmission, to the printing device, of the image data obtained after the attempt and the print operation of the print unit.

An information processing apparatus communicates with a fax apparatus and provides a chat service. The information processing apparatus includes an acceptance unit that accepts an execution instruction on a channel of the chat service from a user and a transmission unit that transmits, based on acceptance of the execution instruction by the acceptance unit, to the fax apparatus, an instruction for the fax apparatus to transmit image data uploaded to the channel of the chat service to a transmission destination and the image data.

A printing system includes: a print output device arranged inside a predetermined LAN; a first server arranged outside the predetermined LAN; and an information terminal configured to transmit, to the first server, a print request indicating that a print output related to a designated file is to be performed in the print output device, wherein the first server transfers the print request to the print output device when receiving the print request from the information terminal, and the print output device generates display data of a print preview screen based on print setting included in the print request and transmits the display data to the information terminal.
