A configurable document server is described. In some embodiments, the configurable document server can enable administrators to set an option that prevents documents from being routed to users when the configurable document server experiences some types of errors. When the configurable document server determines that such an error condition exists, it may prevent the routing of the corresponding document. By preventing documents causing errors from being routed, the configurable document server enables administrators to improve the accuracy of document workflow and thereby improve productivity of users.

A non-transitory storage medium stores instructions which cause an information processor to execute: a first determination processing for determining whether at least one of a first condition, a second condition, and a third condition is established; a first communication processing for receiving input data obtained from an input device and transmitting the input data to an output device, when at least one of the first condition, the second condition, and the third condition is established; and a second communication processing for transmitting instruction information to the input device when none of at least one condition determined in the first determination processing among the first condition, the second condition, and the third condition is established. The instruction information is for instructing the input device to transmit the input data to the output device.

Inter-modal messaging communication is described. In one embodiment, a method of communication includes receiving an electronic mail message to be distributed and determining whether the electronic mail message is a multi-modal distribution message. Respective portions of the message may be separated for each mode of distribution. The separated portions may represent portions to be delivered by SMS messaging and facsimile, for example. The method further includes the steps of transmitting a short message comprising the short message portion of the mail message and establishing a conversation comprising conversation attributes. The conversation attributes are referenced, in certain aspects, to maintain a conversation between an originator of the received electronic mail message and a distribution address of short message portion of the mail message. For example, upon receipt of a short message in reply, the short message may be forwarded to an originator of the conversation.

The present invention provides systems and methods for the virtualization, aggregation, and distributed processing of facsimile communications. The Remote FAX Interconnect known as etherFAX is a system and method that allows for the reception and delivery of information based on cloud computing infrastructure to or from one or more facsimile systems using Internet/web based communication protocols such as HTTP(S) as the transport between a facsimile capable application or hardware and the remotely accessible etherFAX services.

Methods and systems for an auditing infrastructure for an Internet fax service architecture are provided. According to one embodiment, information regarding an event, associated with a component of the Internet fax service architecture, that is to be logged, is received by a centralized audit logging module of the Internet fax service architecture. The component may be a web server, an email server, a fax server, a notification server or an imaging system. The information is utilized by the centralized audit logging module to determine specific parameters within the Internet fax service architecture to be logged. Finally, the event, including the information and the specific parameters, is recorded by the centralized audit logging module to an audit log associated with the Internet fax service architecture in a standardized format.

The controller detects, from a text included in an image of a document read by the image reading device, a first prescribed word, extracts a text portion of a predetermined length continuous before or after the first prescribed word detected, calculates, by keyword groups stored in the storage device, a number representing matching between the keyword belonging to a keyword group and a character string included in the text portion extracted, reads out from the storage device an address associated with the keyword group having a largest number in the number representing the matching, and creates an e-mail a destination address of which is the address read out.

An information processing apparatus capable of preventing trouble from occurring in communication setting due to respective different DHCP servers connected to lines. The information processing apparatus makes a request to the respective DHCP servers connected to a first line and a second line, for a plurality of types of option data required in communication setting of the information processing apparatus. The information processing apparatus makes no request to the DHCP server connected to either the first line or the second line, for a type of option data not required to have a unique value set for each of the first line and the second line, from the types of option data.
