A signal interpretation system includes a communication device, a memory storing instructions, and one or more processors configured to execute the instructions to perform operations including: receiving scanned information including a shape of at least one article scanned with a scanning device to identify the at least one article and identifying a geographic location of the scanning device, when a scan of the at least one article was performed, based on a location signal received from the scanning device. The operations also include evaluating a signal indicative of interest in the identified at least one article and transmitting, via the communication device, a notification based on the evaluated signal, the notification being indicative of the identified at least one article and the identified geographic location, the notification being configured to cause an update in at least one graphical element presented by the scanning device or another device.

In an image processing system, when a user logs in to an image processing apparatus to use a scanning service, the image processing apparatus transmits login information to a relay server, and the relay server transmits scan setup data and destination address data to the image processing apparatus. The image processing apparatus prescans a document to identify a document format, and automatically sets scan setup data (properties), based on the identified format and according to the sent scan setup data, so as to execute scanning.

An information processing apparatus includes a user list providing unit configured to receive device identification information from a current device connected via a network and to send, to the current device, a user list including one or more user identifiers that are stored in a storage unit in association with the received device identification information; and a program list providing unit configured to receive a user identifier that is selected at the current device from the user identifiers in the user list and to send, to the current device, a program list including sets of program information stored in the storage unit in association with the received user identifier.

An information processing device includes: a storage unit configured to store scan data read from a plurality of documents; and a processing unit configured to acquire, based on the scan data, identification information corresponding to an identification code present in the document, and generate, based on the scan data, extraction data obtained by collecting electronic data of the documents associated with the identification information among the plurality of documents. The present disclosure discloses methods and systems for scanning a document at a scan capable device. The method and systems comprise receiving user credentials from a graphical user interface, displaying scan capable devices on a network, creating a shared network folder accessible to a scan capable device, sending a user credential corresponding to the shared network folder to the scan capable device, creating a selectable data entry on the scan capable device corresponding to the network folder, and upon selection of the selectable data entry, digitizing a document and sending the digitized document to the shared network folder corresponding to the selectable data entry.

A display apparatus that displays an image acquired via a network, the display apparatus includes a display unit configured to display information, and one or more controllers configured to register a plurality of pieces of address information including address information for image data accessible with a first protocol and address information for image data accessible with a second protocol, and acquire a plurality of pieces of image data based on the plurality of pieces of registered address information and sequentially display the plurality of pieces of acquired image data on the display unit.

An information processing system includes one or more processors. The one or more processors are configured to receive, from an apparatus, first image data that includes one or more evidence paper images for expense reporting; extract the one or more evidence paper images from the received first image data, and generate one or more sets of second image data corresponding to the one or more evidence paper images, respectively; and send the generated one or more sets of second image data to a system including at least an expense report function to cause the system including at least the expense report function to register each of the one or more sets of second image data in the system including at least the expense report function.

In a network environment, an e-mail to which an image obtained by a scanner (image obtaining device) is attached is stored in a folder on a Web mail service, not via a terminal. Therefore an application is prepared such that management and communication between a terminal, an MFP (scanner) and an e-mail service are executable via themselves. As a result, the e-mail to which the image obtained by the scanner is attached can be stored on the Web mail service, not via a terminal only by operating the application without setting up a driver of the scanner MFP to the terminal.

An information processing system includes a first device and a second device that allows a user to operate the first device via the second device. The information processing system includes a processor and a memory to store a plurality of instructions. When executed by the processor, the plurality of instructions cause the processor to store, in the memory, apparatus configuration image element information regarding one or more elements of an apparatus configuration image of the first device, structure the apparatus configuration image using the apparatus configuration image element information, the apparatus configuration image indicating a configuration of the first device, and in response to execution of an application program on the second device, control a display to display an image based on the apparatus configuration image.
