A control method for an image processing apparatus includes reading an original document, analyzing code information in image data generated by reading of the original document, acquiring authentication information for logging in to an external apparatus by analyzing the code information, logging in to the external apparatus using the acquired authentication information, and transmitting the image data to the external apparatus to which the logging in is performed.

An information processing apparatus includes: a designation unit that allows a user of a transmission source of a document to designate a transmission destination user and a transmission destination terminal; and a transmission unit that transmits the document and transmission destination information indicative of the transmission destination user and the transmission destination terminal designated with the designation unit to an apparatus that transmits the document to the transmission destination terminal.

A system and method for cloud based blacklisting of public email services from scan to email operations includes a cloud server where a blacklist is created and maintained by an administrator for one or more multifunction peripherals having IP addresses in a selected subnet. When a multifunction peripheral receives a scan to email instruction with an associated email address from a user, it requests a copy of the blacklist from the cloud server. The cloud server sends the blacklist to the multifunction peripheral if it has an IP address in the authorized subnet. The multifunction peripheral checks the destination email address and completes the scan to email operation if a domain associated with the email address is not in the blacklist. If the domain is in the blacklist, a copy of a scan file from the document scan, along with information about the multifunction peripheral being used, and time and date of the scan is sent to the administrator without informing the user that the email with the scan file is unsent.

The present disclosure discloses methods and systems for allowing a user to add one or more bookmarks while scanning a document. The method includes receiving a document for scanning from a user. Once received, a user interface is displayed to the user to select an option to add one or more bookmark to the document. The document is scanned to get scanned pages of the document. Based on the selection of the option by the user, one or more bookmarks are added to one or more scanned pages of the document. The scanned document including the one or more bookmarked pages is sent to the one or more recipients for the desired action.

A scanner redirection method for a remote desktop system that includes a client computing device and a host server, includes the steps of: acquiring properties of a physical scanner from a data source; generating a user interface (UI) for the acquired properties of the physical scanner; in response to a first user selection made on the UI, transmitting a request to the physical scanner to update a scanner property that is one of the acquired properties of the physical scanner; and in response to a second user selection made on the UI, receiving from an application running on the host server, a request for a scanned image, transmitting to the data source a request to acquire the scanned image from the physical scanner, and upon receiving the scanned image from the data source, transmitting the scanned image to the application.

A cloud based server includes user profiles having user policies and an organization policy for printing and scanning operations. These policies enable contact-free printing and scanning to occur on connected devices. A user logs onto a device using a contactless input device. The user policies are reviewed to determine if contact-free printing or scanning is enabled. The controller may retrieve a first user profile and a second user profile associated with the destination address from a database. The first user profile and the second user profile may include first setting information and second setting information, respectively. The controller may process the electronic raw data to generate a scan image in accordance with the first user profile. The first user profile may be selected based on a characteristic of the electronic raw data. The controller may transmit the scan image to the destination address in accordance with the user-selectable scanning feature.

A system may include multiple remote kiosk devices each to present a respective kiosk user interface and multiple remote receptionist devices each to present a respective receptionist user interface. The system may perform operations comprising receiving at the receptionist devices live video feeds captured by the multiple kiosk devices and providing the multiple live video feeds to the remote receptionist devices. The remote receptionist devices present the multiple live video feeds in the receptionist user interfaces The system may receive, from a receptionist device, a request to initiate a video call with a remote kiosk device, may initiate a video call between the remote receptionist device and the remote kiosk device, and may cause the user interface of the remote receptionist device to present the video call and the live video feeds simultaneously.
